MJ - "Iowa" - really interesting...

I think Michael made his experience with "Dancing the Dream". With it he tried something different and it was NOT appreciated. "Dancing the Dream" is far from being pop. There are beautiful poems, and when I recite them for myself I sense that there must be wonderful music in them as well.
I think Michael was very hurt by that rejection. Indeed he voiced his frustration about the public's ignorance towards it. It's a shame!

Side note: imo with "Dancing the Dream" Michael showed what a pioneer he truly is. The pieces about selfishness and about the earth have never been as up-to-date as they are today.

I agree with that, all the way. Thta book isn't even in print anymore, which is so ridiculous, because it's one of the most insightful and observant pieces of work I've ever seen. You're right, it wasn't pop at all, there was nothing about it that would fall in to a trendy state. It was Just a written example of Michael's philosophies and perceptions and his ideals and values. And glimps in to how he sees the world, and it's the most amazing thing because of that. I wish more people knew about this book, because it gives a greater insight in to who Michael is then just about anything. You're probably right, people basically rejected it and i think, for Michael, if it isn't accepted, then what's the point. He want's his work to be accepted, because I think he feels that's what creates real impact. I think that's why he's always wanted to be at the top, because he want's acceptance and he want's his work to have signifigant value, not because he's got a massive ego. And it's probably the same reason he's never released any of this classical music he's composed. It sucks. If people didn't have their heads up their asses and actually knew what was quality and good, this wouldn't be the case.

I stand by my prediction: A New MJ song will be released from "the vaults" every year for the next 100 years after his passing.

Love to hear his more classical sounds ....and to see him tap dance old-school again in tails ;)

I'm not surprised, Michael has always proclaimed his love for classical music. A great number of his songs also have classical influences, like Little Susie and Will You Be There, so it's not surprising that he's written a classical song.

I'd love for Michael to release an all classical album, like Billy Joel and Paul McCartney have done. That would be fantastic.

I suppose Michael can even go more for the orchestral music for his films, not only singing -- as he did with Nicholas Pike for "Ghosts", commonly writing parties for the symphonic orchestra:

1) "ASHES TO ASHES":

2) "DANCE ON THE CEILING"

http://repertoire.bmi.com/title.asp?blnWri...uerytype=WorkID

3) "DESCENDING ANGELS"

http://repertoire.bmi.com/title.asp?blnWri...uerytype=WorkID

4) "SOLDIER S ENTRANCE"

http://repertoire.bmi.com/title.asp?blnWri...uerytype=WorkID

The last two works are composed solely by Michael, and ones are suggested to be related to "Ghosts" because of their registration numbers, which are very close to ones for the first two compositions, and because of the names. "Desceding Angels" is probably short piece of music which is played when the living deads stop dancing on the ceiling and start fly down to the floor. And "Soldier's entrance" is played when Michael tells "Meet the family!"

We can be proud of Michael's work with orchestras not only with Childhood, Morphine, Speechless, and some other songs, but also with other strong pieces, such as from "Ghosts".

(Please notice that Michael's name as composer is there at BMI for those pieces not because some part of 2Bad/Ghost was mixed with Nicholas Pike's score -- if this would be a case, then all the other co-authors of those songs would be included in the registered BMI record.)

omg, I just watched 'ghosts' the "DESCENDING ANGELS"
is really great, I never really noticed it but it if you listen to it, it really sounds exactly like descending angels!:)
It makes you happy but it can mke you cry too because it's so beatiful!

The classical compositions are part of why Ghosts is my favorite MJ video. The entire video is awesome. It is a crying shame it was never released here.

It would be nice if he would incorporate his own classical pieces into his music rather than sampling others. The whole Will You Be There would have sounded more interesting knowing he composed it.

I know it is wrong of me to say, but I sometimes can't wait for the day when he passes away so some of this hidden work will be released for all to hear. Everyone always gives more respect to people after they are no longer here to enjoy…

WHAT THE F*&$!

What is WRONG with you?! That is a BIZARRE thing to say.

Anyway--didn't he write Will You Be There? I don't get it…what are you saying?

Do you even realize what you say?...Being dead is forever. Being alive is only living one life here on earth.

I can't believe I'm even replying to such an ignorant and frightening remark.

I think MJ should've released a Ghosts soundtrack instead of Blood on the Dance Floor and included the scores as well as the songs. But seriously Mike, forget pop music, you've been there done that. I think I speak for a lot of fans when I say we want to hear your full potential.

I'd love for Michael to release a classical album. It would be amazing and would show off what a musical genius he really is, in terms of composition. He could even sing opera. I know he could. Which would give people greater insight in to WHY he's the best vocalist. Because a lot of people don't understand how good he is, even a lot of fans.

I just watched Ghosts again. It is such an amazing video. I think it is once the the best things Michael has done. It really shows what a genius he is. Dancer, singer, composer, 'maestro', and actor. And I suppose the entire story came out of Michael's mind as well. I understand why it wasn't released here but it is such a shame. It should have received scads of awards for Michael and been lauded both for music and film. As it is most people never even knew it came out.

This is true, I'd love to hear classical music from him. If he's created it, you know it will be good.

:)
Amen! Co-sign. Maybe we should start a petition *lol*. Though I do love Michael's art so far as well.
But I, too, believe it is just a small extract of what he can do.
