another book white wrote reagrding the standards of care. white says its out of context again! its about trained staff should always be there when giving diprivan. white doesnt agree with this statement now says the practice has changed. since he did the book in the 90's in appropiate settings it can be given by ppl who arent anethatists. and guidlines have been given for that
walgren showing the guidlines for giving dip for ppl who arent anethatists.whites being given a copy. it states even if moderate sedation is being given same care is needed as if u were giving deep sedation.
showing some more guidlines on the screen. the guideline says because it isnt always possible to predict the reaction. drs who want to give a certain amount of sedation should be trained to rescue a paitent who goes into a deeper level of sedation. wlagren says you should have the equipment and be prepared yes admits white. if an infusion is used would it be moderate sedation? answer yes and if its moderate sedation you should be trained to rescue someone from deep sedation? yes admits white.
more guidelines shown. moderate and deep sedation this relates to goes through everything u should go through. paitent counselling fasting, monitoring pulse oxy B.P heart rate at 5 mins intervals etc etc. if u were giving dip in a home setting would you use all the above? yes says white if im using an infusion.
u need a nurse to help. yes says white but he brings up the procedure was going on then. walgren asks again so u think its ok to not have a nurse there if its been giving in a home setting? white says i didnt say that. walgren asks again. should there be another person present? white says yes xtra monitoring if u are giving an infusion. white keeps trying to make excuses yet again.
aree these guidlines apprioate if u are giving dip in a home setting with no nurse present.? yes if its by an infusion. what about benzos and a dip bolus? .white suggest certain practises in the home when benzos are given not all the things listed are needed. it would be a good idea to have them all though he says.
its like getting blood out of a stone with him. talk about being evasive
