TMZ Video: MJ Music Video Shoot Takes Over Hollywood

I just hope the estate/sony have more effort to it or creativity....not just another some kind of tribute, impersonator or like an mj fanmade vid. like many have said. We have many vids like that in utube...but its ok of course for preserving MJ's legacy. But just sad that sony have weak promotion or making "Michael" music vids seems in a hurry or cheap/bland ...But its ok we've not seen the whole vid. yet so hope we can have an unseen footage of MJ....but I understand we dont have to expect like an awesome MV coz u know MJ is not here anymore sadly :(

ET has another shot from the video (20 seconds longer and more wide shot)

think of it this way. why is it that liberian girl, who is it, cry are much less appealing short films than the classics of smooth crim, bad, thriller, etc. Because mj isn't in it.
I think its safe to say that we'd all prefer a video of mj just sitting there doing nothing rather than a video that doesnt have him in it at all. MJ's presence is what lights up the screen. The best part of liberian girl is the last few seconds.
But..as we've all said a hundred times, he isn't here and there isn't much we can do about it. Just accept that without mj, this vid ain't gonna come anywhere near the others and be happy that we have anything at all..

Do I hear no autotune/synthesizer on Michael's vocals on the bit: "It's true, that you, may never ever have that change again..."?

I want that.

I already made my point. I will not listen nonsense my whole life from someone.

But what you wrote is beautiful. MJ's legacy is like Mozart.

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L.

More beautiful than that, only fans saying they strongly agree.

I think I'll cry.

But MJ is not Mozart.

Most of the population does not care about Mozart and do not listen often his music.

MJ left a will. MJ gave statements saying he wanted to continue living for her art. MJ is an enemy for the press and these will do anything to end his legacy. MJ has children and has debts.

Save your outdated philosophy and start thinking about what MJ wanted and what MJ deserves from us.

End of discussion. Good night.

I don't know why I still spend time and effort to reply to someone who insists my question was stupid and insults my way of thinking. But, I guess I just have to say this.

Most of the world population DOES care about Mozart and listen to his music often. After hundreds of years, people still talk about, study and enjoy the works of Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, etc. This is what immortality means. Good music never dies. Generations after generations will still play their music.

You talked about what Michael wanted. Michael wanted to be remembered as a great artist. He wanted to achieve immortality through his arts and he succeeded.

Of course Michael wanted to live through his arts. But, it doesn't mean his Estate has to pour everything from the vault and release every possible tape to achieve longetivity. If this is the only means for the legacy to substain, then the legacy will truly diminish one day because unreleased material will run out one day.

Like I said, I welcome new releases but I don't see new releases as critical to reinforce Michael's legacy. What Michael created during his life solidified his status as one of the greatest artists in history. Nothing, not even the media, can take it away from him. Many great artists suffered character assasinations as well. Charles Chaplin came to mind. Now, when people talk about Chaplin, people talk about his artistic achievements. The scandals are just footnotes. History will do Michael justice.

The artists most of the population listen to thesedays will come and go. A posthumous album will come and go. The malicious press will come and go. But, great music that Michael created is here to stay. His music will outlive all the press against him and you and I.

My philosophy (actually, philosophy is too big a word to use, let's say it's my opinion) may sound outdated and non-sense to you. But, I find comfort in knowing Michael left a mark in HIStory and all other matters (debts, lies, rumors) are trivial in comparison.

If Michael just sang the way he did and never danced a step or wrote a song, he would still be regarded as one of the greatest vocalists in modern time.

If Michael just danced the way he did and never sang a note or wrote a song, he would still be regarded as one of the greatest dancers in modern time.

If Michael just wrote DSTYGE, Billie Jean, WATW, Dirty Diana, HTW, WII, WYBT, Earth Song, SIM and never sang a note or danced a step, he would still be regarded as one of the greatest song-writers in modern time.

If Michael only released Thriller, he would still be one of the best recording artists ever. On top of Thriller, he gave us OTW, BAD, Dangerous, HIStory, Invincible and I Want You Back and Triumph and Destiny.

On top of being such a talented and unparalleled performer, he gave us innovative short film after short film.

I completely agree with you in all of this.

When I take a step back and just asked myself what kind of artist I fell so hard into, I know Michael Jackson came once in history. I honestly don't think saying Michael was a genius is an overstatement.

Of course is not an overstatement to say that MJ was a genius, the hell he was. I think nobody doubts about that.

I do place Michael in the same leage with Michaelangelo and Mozart.

This is a very respectfull opinion and an obvious fan position, but, this is the only thing that I do not agree with, maybe MJ is in another kind of league. I hope I am wrong because I love Mike.

....he was a humble humanitarian who had a heart of gold....

In this one, Michael is at the top of any league.

Regards

thanks for posting that Ivy....they sure are dancing with heart. I understand that some say that these video's are almost like a tribute to Michael because he gave US oh so much of himself...and we should give back...I think some of us have a harder time saying goodbye to Michael than others...this includes me. Its not that I dont appreciate what they are trying to do with these video's...I think it is just that...I am not ready to say goodbye.:(

Hold My Hand was like a tribute video but maybe this one will tell a story of the song. Even if the video doesn't show Michael they should tell a story and we hear Michael's voice. It's really hard to tell what the video will be with these clips because there will be editing and other things. I am going to wait and see. I think we are trying to adjust to how things are now. It's not easy and what is okay with some is not with others. It's hard when we see other artists do their things and the fans can see them. With us we lost that.

"Most of the world population DOES care about Mozart and listen to his music often".

I stopped reading here.

That's the problem. You don't even fully read his posts and even if you do you're to ignorant to see what he's actually saying. You seem to care about the meaningless details in his posts, overlooking the point he's been trying. You use those meaningless details as the base for your stupid and ignorant replies.

Yes, posting "I stopped rading here" is kinda stupid and ignorant. If you're not willing to read his post in its entierly then you might as well not even bother replying things that have, for the most part, nothing to do with the point he's actually trying to make.

I don't understand the negativity honestly.

Sure Michael isn't here anymore and we cannot have his vision in these videos - It's sad but it's also the harsh reality.

We get videos from directors that knew / loved / respected Michael. We see dancers and fans in those videos that says "look Michael's influence on us and our love towards him still lives".

I honestly do not understand what is so bad about this.

I think we should be glad that a video is being done considering the lack promotion with the album. I think the people involved in the videos mean well and love Michael and that is important too.

The staff of the site asked us to stop the attacks and the off topic discussion. Very convenient to you attacking me now in this pathetic way. So I will not waste my time responding to you. Have a nice day.

Everyone complained about the old footage of MJ used in Hold My Hand. Now everyone complains about the lack of videos of MJ in the new clip. It makes me sick.

I think the clip will be a beautiful tribute. Let's wait and see. I loved the female dancer.

I like the leaked videos, they seem interesting. One really shouldn't hurry to judge at this point because we don't know how the outcome is gonna be until we see it. Maybe it turns out to be a boring tribute, maybe not. Who knows, maybe they will blend Michael in there somehow or scenes from the studio if such exist.

Sony and the Estate wanted to promote the album imo, they always did. But after the Cascio controversy erupted they went quiet for a while. Now they are back to promote again with 2 singles and 2 videos! They hope to save the album sales this way because the album flopped big time (less than 2 mil worldwide). They may get some more non-fans to buy but that's it (perhaps they can sell another million copies tops?)

We've only seen a small clip, so it's totally wrong to judge it yet IMO.

Also, since Michael's passing, the flash mob creations of dance classic like Thriller, Bille Jean and Smooth Criminal have gripped youtube viewers the world over.

It therefore feels appropriate that this dance craze makes up part of this new video.

We don't know yet whether Michael will feature, but it shows quite honestly how his music and magic lives in us all.

Granted, a CGI Michael or unseen footage would be preferable, but we don't yet know what Behind The Mask is going to look like.

The Hold My Hand video was pretty good and probably not disimilar to what Michael himself would have done.

Let's be happy a video is being made at all instead of a compilation of clips we've already seen. The fact that the girl in the video is channeling Michael is a nice twist to the lyric as after all, imitation is the best form of flattery...

I know many popstars who would love to have a flopped album like that. Especially with the little albuns sales this year (40,000 copies to be number one - Billboard).

well, the good thing about this clip is that the mix they used is kinda different from the original
can't wait to hear!

When will the video premiere?

Not sure, I asked Wayne Isham (director) when he was talking about filming Michael in very same theater years back (he said it's pretty surreal for him to be doing this video now and he keeps going back to working with Michael, it's pretty intense for him as well. He was pretty emotional by the end when it was done, sort of looking at that theater and reminiscing.) and he said they will start getting it into the editing room in the next 3 days and that it probably would be a few weeks. Didn't sound like it would be next week, so I don't think they had any specific details available that night. From the papers that I signed I gathered that they had filmed for quite a number of days.

Isham is a trip by the way. Too funny. That guy can light a serious fire under anyone.

There was a pretty funny situation. It was cold, late and so on. I remember there was some kind of lady that was highly protective of some chips over at the buffet telling someone "you had your chips!!"

I loved how Isham was sorta motivating himself and everyone around him at 2 am in the morning, freezing cold. "We're gonna kick some a** here, we're gonna kick a**."
:hysterical:
Right in that moment one extra said to him "You know what would really help us to kick some a**??? CHIPS!"
So Isham totally went with it and said: "You want chips?? Okay!"

10 Minutes later we had 2 huge bowls of chips at our empty table.
:hysterical::hysterical::D:agree:

And noone was prouder of his dancers and particularly Sophia than Wayne Isham and the three choreographers. Was great to watch the interactions.
