To Catlovers

Semlan is a feral cat who lived in a colony before she was trapped.
It´s a lot of work before a feral cat get so comfortable so he/she doesn´t run and try to hide.
If you look a cat right in the eyes it feels you are a threat.
You can look into it´s eyes briefly, if you blink with your eyes you tell the cat you are nice.
I use to blink and talk to the cat too, I´m nice, I´m nice, I´ll be nice to you and so on.
I have followed Semlan and her friends from the catcolony in a catforum and I´ve posted some videos from other cats here earlier.

I have posted about Caboodle ranch before, where many of the nearly 700 cats lived a life that were far away from the cute pictures or videos on the homepage .
It has been to court now

"Thanks to a major court victory for the ASPCA this week, the cats rescued from Caboodle Ranch are a big step closer to finding the forever homes they deserve.

In an eight-page order, a judge of Florida’s Third Judicial Circuit transferred ownership of the felines from Caboodle Ranch to local authorities, saying the nearly 700 cats should never return to the rural Florida property.

The judge wrote that the cats “were not receiving proper and reasonable care while in the custody of Caboodle” and that Caboodle lacked “the resources, ability, skill and (most importantly) willingness to follow expert veterinary advice essential to an operation dedicated to the care of such a large and apparently ever-growing number of animals.”

The judge also prohibited Caboodle from acquiring more animals, ensuring that no more cats fall victim to hoarding there.

“The court’s decision has the best interest of the animals at heart,” says Tim Rickey, Senior Director of the ASPCA's Field Investigations & Response Team. “As the court noted, cats at Caboodle lived in filth; many were sick and in pain.”

Wednesday marked four months since authorities raided Caboodle Ranch in rural Madison County. Caboodle promoted itself as a sanctuary for unwanted felines, but the reality of life on the property was very different.

Today the cats are being housed in a temporary shelter in Jacksonville, receiving the veterinary attention, behavioral enrichment and companionship they deserve. Their road to forever homes has been a long one, but even more good news for the cats is just around the corner."

Libby became a healthy cat after treatment but who knows what happens in the future.

I wonder why the first rescue neglected her so bad.
A rescue is supposed to help animals not neglect them.
If the leader of the rescue was so bad why didn´t the other members do something about it?

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

We are taking care of them to be adopted and be happy, loved and respected.

It´s nice to see that the kittens mother was rescued too.
I can understand it´s not always possible to take the whole family if there are too many cats and the best you can do is to take the kittens and spay and vaccinate the mother and release her- with food and shelter of course.

There are a few herein Sweden who claims they are catrescuers but they just take the kittens and leave the mother.
She might be away looking for food for her babies and when she comes back her babies are gone.
They don´t even spay themother and of course the mother gives birth to more kittens.
there have been kittens, siblings, where 3 had long hair and 1 had short hair and they only rescued those with long hair ,because they are more popular.

Re: to catlovers

Thank you Mist! it is really nice to find someone who loves the cats, I have several cats, we find them when they are little and people abandone them :( I think many people don't like them because they have a big personality and people get angry with them :(, I think that the love for the animals is the more disinterested way of love :D

wahahaha I couldn't see the pics!! I'm new in here but I found where give click to see the pics now :dancin:, they are absolutely nice!!!!! thanks for post them ç, I really liked the one with the dog and the kittens Ashtanga

Re: to catlovers

Big cat rescue struggles to care for and feed their big cats but they have a heart for small cats too.
I think the offer to visit Big cat rescue for free if you had a spay/neuter receipt from the veterinarian or had adopted a spayed/neutered cat is amazing.Or was.

Kittens were buried alive by an old man, but his daughter saved them.
The other siblings were okay but this little kitten was affected by it.
It says at six months he´s doing great and he is very smart and pampered.

Re: to catlovers

Re: to catlovers

MELTING with those pictures ashtanga!!

By the way, I hate how people always crucifies cats, being black cats or not. They call them conceited, ungrateful, grumpy, evil.. :/ etc and it's so far for the truth. I wish people could see their true, loving nature, they're sweet animals that just happen to have a dignifying personality to them, so misunderstood. Anyway, I'm glad there's a kitty shelter in Sweden, I hope the love for cats spreads all over the world someday. By the way, does anybody know which animal causes if any, were supported by Michael? I know many of his humanitarian work with people but I don't hear much about animals. Thanks :D

Re: to catlovers

I already have two cats (4 and 12 years old Birmans) and within a few weeks our new family member will be Hero (of my Heart):
