Basically.:lol: However, I think the right timing and proper preparation could reduce "some" of the criticism.... or at least tame it a bit? Call me overly-optimistic, but I think timing plays a huge part in whatever Michael does. There will always be those who will poo-poo everything he does regardless of how brilliant or flawless it is, but I think the appreciation for him is building back up again amongst the general public. People obviously miss him and his music. I see it all over youtube in places I'd never expect and I sometimes hear it and see it offline in surprising ways. So regardless of any criticism thrown at him, I truly feel if the timing is right, it won't make that much of a damaging dent. What else can be said about him at this point that hasn't been said already YET people still love him and anticipate his next move. I would guess the perfect timing would be when Michael is ready AND he gets a feeling that the public is ready for him. Of course, we (on these fanboards) are ALWAYS ready :lol: BUT I think it'll come down to what HE feels is the right time, criticism and everything else be damned.

People just need to realize that Michael Jackson knows what he's doing!! He WILL perform again there's no question about that, he just wants it to be perfect or as close to perfect as possible! So just relax & watch Michael do his thang!! Just be patient and don't worry about stupid stuff! Michael is a performer in his SOUL through & through, he just wants everything to be perfect before he erupts!! SO LOOK OUT!!

On another board someone said they saw a Grammys commercial tonight after NCIS that mentioned the Thriller tribute. I guess they're officially promoting it now.

so he is not going to perform. iam glad with that,they dont deserve him yet.. they've done too much too him..they say and wtrite too much for him he is not going come out and beck.he will do it as he has plan to do it!!! with his major comeback with his brand new songs!!!he will be there and the young will pay tribute to the king!!! when he will perform it is going to be really amazing..

I was reading another MJ message board and one fan said that his uncle works at the Grammy Association and his uncle confirmed that MJ will not be performing at the Grammys and MJ is not scheduled to attend. He said MJ sent an acceptance video.

It makes sense that he is sending an acceptance video because if MJ wanted his fans to be there he would have let the fans know. MJ would not want to be there without his fans. I think an acceptance video is a great idea.

Oh, an acceptance video is fine. That makes more sense actually. He's probably just sending his thanks for the tribute and the induction of "OTW" and "Thriller" into their hall of fame. Maybe they'll actually extend that honor to his other work someday.

I don't think Thriller needs any more sales, lol.

This is a good approach from Michael. It's just a test the waters project for him. Of course he's not going to waste his first performance since the trial on a 25 year old album. Why should he? He understand the element of the unexpected, and that's what he's waiting to do with a new project he can fully commit his artistic vision and desire to. Not some junkie remixes that were added just as a celebratory factor.

If this is true I have to say I don't see the point of it. He's in the US, he's not touring or performing elsewhere, so why can't he attend? It makes it seem like he's afraid to or something. I don't understand why he won't promote Thriller 25. I would understand it if he didn't like it, but he was involved in the project so that makes no sense. I'm not saying MJ is obligated to attend the Grammys or do anything, but if makes me wonder about how committed he is to this comeback.

Great.... SONY used to be the lazy one with promotion; now MJ is. Seems like we'll never get a wholehearted attempt from Team MJ. :( Refuses to turn up at the biggest music event and the BET Honours when an album is involved... but flies over to japan for some cheap show and awards ceremony just cuz he gets a bit of quick and easy money.

I'm sorry, but this just doesn't make sense to me at all. What on earth is he doing?

Imagine him organising a MASSIVE performance at the end of the night! it would boost sales like absolute crazy! Is he just really unconfident with himself or what's the go? I'm at a loss as to wtf he's doing atm.

After hearing this he's gonna have to pull something incredible out in the near future otherwise there is clearly no 'comeback' of sorts happening here.

This is not a comeback album. It is just a few remixes that were done with some untalented producers and artists. It is these kinds of artists like Fergie, William and Akon that have lowered the music industry and the real meaning behind music. MJ is a real creator of music and is on a total different level.

Um, people, who ever called this a "comeback"? It's a feakin' 25 year old album which has been re-issued god knows how many times. He goes to Japan to make some quick and easy money? What do you think this is? lol. This isn't a new album, this isn't a comeback attempt, this isn't anything major other then an anniversary re-issuing of the biggest selling album of all time. Like I said, it's not going to make some massive impact in the already outragous sales figures, whether he "promotes it" or not. Him and Sony are no doubt just trying to make some cash off of it and test the waters to gage the public reaction to Michael at the moment. That's ALL this is, and I don't know where anyone got the inkling that this was somehow Michael's explosion back on to the world stage. Touring, performing, videos, etc... All of that will ONLY come with a new project and new material. I don't understand why anyone would think otherwise.

Did you REALLY expect Mj to go all out for this project when MJ is working for a NEW ALBUM?

Did you really expect MJ to show his face everywhere and perform everywhere and make his biiiig reveal and not save all that for his NEW ALBUM, but do it for the sake of a RE-RELEASE of an album released 25 YEAR AGO???

ya'll need to stop TRIPPIN. I'm tired of the whining.
