1998-What's It all about?

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you explain a bit more? I know on his signature in Moonwalker it said 1988 and I'm guessing it was just to mark the year in which he signed it.
 
^ In his book Moonwalker (published in 1988) it had a picture of himself he drew and it said 1998 with an arrow and circles under it.
 
Oh yeah you are right it does say 1998. Hmm, maybe it was an error on his part, maybe he meant to write 1988 but wrote 1998 by accident.
 
I think that he put that year because that's the year he thought he was gonna die or something.

maybe if the fans ever get to ask him questions in an interview... that should be one of the questions. ----Fact about 1998--- he turned 40.. I don't know if that has to do with anything though.

I believe 1998 in his signature might have something to do with what Nostradamus predicted to happen in 1998, which is World War 3. So I think Michael thought, not only he is going to die, but the whole world will stop existing.

Perhaps it was something spiritual. Life begins at 40 they say, and maybe Michael was looking forward to this time in mind. Like a personal affirmation.... that's all I can think of about it.

They say he wrote a huge figure on his mirror before the Bad album was released (what was it, 10,000,000 or something?) and the sales figures way surpassed that. What I'm saying is, I think it was a way of praying about something, for Michael.

I read some where that a fortune teller told him to write the "1998" under his signature, or he would die before that year. I suppose MJ stopped doing that because he realised it was crap to start off with! :lol:

it says though not the exact phrase

MJ not looking forward to turn to 40..or MJ does not want to turn 40..

something like that, i dont recall the exact words..
 
God will you PLEASE stop jumping whenever somebody says something NATURAL referred to Michael? So what, now, it is my fault because of that? So what if I put Michael and Death in the same sentence? It's not as if I made something up.That's what I heard.

I suppose so, too, Essence.:) I'm hoping in retrospect he has come to regret the whole affair. And we all have regrets, don't we...

heard something similar. don't know why ppl jump on somebody immediately when they don't like something...
 
I read that he wanted to stop performing on stage when he hit 40 and since 1998 was his 40th year, maybe that was when he was going to retire.
 
Didn't he start putting another date in his signature after that tho?

And...haha personally, I think it's just MJ tryin to be mysterious lol
