i agree.

unfortunately, it's not that way for everybody. you're acting as a radio programmer, trying to tell everybody how to feel.

sony took a risk, with what they decided to do, and as a result, the future is uncertain as to how fans will feel and react. so sony might as well have taken a 'risk' in the other direction, and did things, Michael's way. the worst thing that could have happened, is that all fans would feel genuine joy at what would take place, and there wouldn't be a worry that people would try and radio program people to feel a certain way. so for me, that's sony's fault.

you think death always sells? it hardly worked for Alliyah. it was short lived. and not all people could feel 'joy'.

that's just the way it is.

What radio programmes do you listen to.....I listen to MJTunes :)

Look, the be all and end all is that we all have different opinions, this is what makes a great community and we all want the same thing, its just hard getting there. I completely respect your opinion and you should respect mine, as I am only throwing the otherside of things out there for people to look at to interpret for themselves. But the major scary problem is that you say Sony took a risk and will have to wait to see how fans react, so if they react badly they wont buy from Sony?

you haven't respected my opinion, actually, but we'll move from there.

people have refused to buy from sony. i saw accounts on it from this board. and, actually, other products have taken sony's place at number 1.

point is, there may be risk in everything..but there is far less risk in doing the RIGHT thing. quite frankly, there is no risk in doing the right thing. if you think of someone else first, you'll surely get back good things in return.

Thing is we dont want people to stop buying MJs music from Sony do we? constantly reminding fans of 2001 will only put them off more, like has been said numberous times, Michael moved on.

Now thing is, you have all the negative side of Sony and this whole situation pretty nailed, what would you suggest the Estate did?

I would expect this answer to better than John Branca a veteran Music Lawyer who brokered the Beatles catalogue deal, was friends with Michael for years and currently is admin with John Mcclain another veteran of many years, also I would expect the answer to be better than the 10s of business journalists who have said this deal is a winner for all sides and also that of the business minds at Sony.

Because you can always hang on the negative side, but its when you view both sides your mind opens, something us fans should always do

and i would suggest that all those business people didn't do much for the american economy, did they?

pretending like an action doesn't cause an equal and opposite reaction is closing your eyes, to something that is here, whether or not you accept it. if you take from people, you get taken from. that's life. if you give to people you get given to. that's life.

and i already established the postive, which is MJ established. not lawyer established. those lawyers learned from MJ, and are keeping up his tradition. MJ's kids are taken care of. MJ's music remains magical, and people have always been buying it.

the only negative here, is controlling other peoples' feelings. at first, you said it's ok..everybody has opinions. then you went back on that.

let us accept the whole board.

and as far as Michael 'moving on', is concerned. nobody has a radar on Michael's feelings. what IS known, is that he closed himself off from lecherous people, after a long time of service to humanity, and rightfully so. it's the greed from others that killed him.

i can't pretend to be joyous at MJ's death, and all that led to it. and fans who are no longer alive, because of it, and april coming up. who knows how i'll feel, come november. and i'm not the only one. i know people who have left this board, because of it.

greed kills. it doesn't give life.

I see you 100% didn't answer the question. See if you take a look back at this thread, everytime people start getting hyped and excited about this venture, you pop up with negativity and hate towards Sony, completly disrupts the flow of convo between positive thinkers here (I know you are gonna accuse me of calling you a non positive thinker) I am not here as a mod, I havent removed nothing, or touched anyones comments, I am here as a fan who wants us all to talk about this very important future.

I'll tell you what right, whatever you write next I wont reply you can do whatever you like, I just wanna talk about MJ and this stuff cuz I am really excited and hope Sony and The Estate well, I hope the majority of us here are too, So even though the most important person isn't here I wish the others best of luck, they have an important legacy in there hands lets not hope you are right about Sony, we can only hope they do well now

Sadly you are so right. Greed from other people was the root of so many problems for Michael whether it was the allegations, bitter ex employees trying to sue him, people writing books about him, people selling interviews to tabloids about him, and of course Murray who's greed killed Michael. Greed is just evil. Greed was what took Michael away from us, greed was what took a father away from his children, and greed took a son away from his mother.

first of all, i'm not the only one who has a negative opinion of sony. and i'm not expressing hate. it's negative to use the word hate, everytime you can't come up with a solid response.

you are disagreeing with yourself. you are playing mod.

there is a flow on here. everybody is giving their opinion. and plenty of people, besides me, disagree with what you're saying. there are people on both sides. not just one person. that is the flow. the only non flow is focusing on getting personal with other members. that is what you keep doing. and giving false info about other members.

stop focusing on me, which you just admitted to doing, which is bolded.
you were so focused on me, personally, you didn't see that i DID answer your question about positivity. and i added it with the rest of reality.

i already said fans NEVER stopped buying MJ music. nothing ever stops them from buying MJ music. no props to sony's recent actions, for that.

people have all their various opinions, and people still buy MJ music. unfortunately for other artists, they needed radio. MJ doesn't need radio.

his magic keeps him afloat.

and yet, everybody still has whatever opinion they want to have.

and by the way, when i was talking sony products, i was talking of products outside the music. MJ's legacy cannot be damaged by greed. so there's no reason to force people to feel how you want them to feel.

but if anything gets hurt, it's not because of people who don't like sony. it's because of sony. don't blame the fans for what sony has done. that is NOT the fans' fault. and it never will be.
trying to guilt trip fans who don't agree with you, is like martial law. there is no warranting for the guilt tripping.

no. greed, and how Michael was mistreated, by the greedy didn't make it possible for more fans to buy MJ's music. in fact, that greed took away fans who would be here to buy MJ music, because those fans committed suicide, when Michael died.

there are people who feel as you feel but there are also people here who are hurting in a way in which with, you may not agree. you can't force us not to hurt that way.

You're wasting your time responding to V. :p
I think is not cool to kinda "diss" members this way, he thinks the way he thinks, we should all respect EVRYONE'S OPINION.

Is not cool saying "dont waste your time on him" or whatever

Is just not cool

I second this.

And thank you vncwilliam for expressing boldly what many fans I'm sure think. I can't see why this should not be a legitimate point of view - quite the opposite, we should all be free to feel what we do.

If they release 10 best ofs that would be really really bad business decision. I am pretty sure that Sony knows the pulse of the public and what they want. The public wants new material, new songs, new everything. There really is no way around what Sony can do now, they would be shooting themselves in the foot if they release any more greatest hits stuff, if I can can figure that out then surely a huge company like Sony can.

Besides, I'd rather stay optimistic about things, it feels better than being cynical and gloomy about things. Read the rest of the posts here, I don't think they will be doing that.

they want the money, so why releasing a full album? sell a gretest hits with 2 songs. man, thats moneyyyyyy! ^^
but no prob for me. i will get the songs via net (torrents,...) and if the album is out there for 2 euros (ebay...) i will buy it. i will only pay 1 euro for each song, not more.

this is truly sad. if we buy the album even if it does have Sonys name on it most of the proceeds go to the estate which in turn goes to his kids. If we Do Not buy this album simply because of who has put it out thats taking Money away from Michael's kids and possibly next ventures for us. I know we all dislike sony for treating michael the way they DID but thats in the past and we need to move on to get something great.

Edit: I don't think sony will be that stupid as to put out MORE GH albums with 2 new songs on it. If they did that then there would be no point in making a 200 million dollar deal.

I agree, to enter into that kind of deal, they must know they have some pretty amazing stuff to work with, otherwise they wouldn't be confident they would make back the money.

Even Sony must realize that people are getting tired of that. And it is so easy to illegally download a song or two from the internet now that most people probably wouldn't by the greatest hits just for one or two songs. But a HUGE number of people would buy an album of new music from Michael. Especially in the next year or so.

Mike put up a separate trust fund for the kids, based on publishing, just because of labels like sony. nobody can hurt MJ's kids. he was much smarter than that. nobody can control what a label can or cannot do, nor, what fans cannot do. and it's not the fans fault. but the publishing is everlasting. so please don't blame us for what labels do.

we're not hurting MJ's kids. we've always bought his music.

why is one move a guarantee for a profit, and the other move not a guarantee for a profit?

the warm and fuzzy feeling of death sells, doesn't always work. all the tupac being played on the radio hasn't put a shot in the industry's arm. that negative only hurt the industry. negative moves by the industry breed negative results. the industry is still sliding.

and if MJ's music was so great a guarantee, then, why didn't sony see it that way, two years ago?

it's amazing how some people underestimate Michael, who kept his family afloat forever, but they don't underestimate the labels that have been fucking artists over for years, and putting a hole in the bottom of the music industry boat.

it was Michael who put two shots in the arm of the industry. not the labels.

and child exploitation has never been pro child. or pro anyone else.

such a cold cold thing to be thinking. morbidity sells?
and yet...it is not guaranteed. if anything..whoever didn't think of Michael, is who had no thought for the kids.

Guys, you will see that this new project! 2nd one of deal, is indeed a **new studio album** with songs mostly what he has been working on last few years, and also if you read other thread , you will see near confirmation from our insiders who are virtually 100% reliable!!

Your words are so wise and greatly appreciated. I feel very sad when we as loving fans are ridiculed or scolded for caring for MJ the man. It seems almost ludicrous and lacking of any type of compassion. We are constantly told to move on. Move on from what? Michael is dead and Murray has not gone to trial yet. MJ's kids are without their father. Katherine has lost her dear son(they were like bestfriends) Millions of fans will never see Michael live with his love caring spirit ever again. So when you say move on what are you talking about? If that is where you are in your life I commend you.(Good for you) but there is too much unsettled business for me to move on. Bless all of you that can.

well if one thinks that endearing themselves to money somehow makes money endear itself to them, they got another think coming, and it will be quite the rude awakening. the whole usa is in trouble, financially, because of people who think like sony. money money money, and nothing else.

MJ was so wealthy, yet he didn't care about money. so people put him on blast for it. yet if it weren't for him, there'd be no sony. it would barely be cbs records. you love money, you lose it. you don't care about money, you gain it.

yet...that shouldn't have to be written, because, then, somebody will start paying attention to the last part of the sentence.

Love your post. You speak the truth. Regardless of what some are trying to do (which is totally obvious) We should be allowed to admire Michael; defend Michael; and speak the truth. Some may not agree with us but like we are told over and over again this is a community and the community I live in everyone does not agree. The fan board should be about Michael Joseph Jackson in his defense not Sony, AEG, AGE, Murray, The Jacksons, Dileo, Ortega, Payne, Philips or any one else. Now if this is the case please pm of that then I will move on. I am not trying to be negative but it becomes negative when you feel as if you can't speak in defense or love for Mike. Some of us are greatly confused on what to say and not say.
I am sorry for publicly doing this but I have no means of PM. I really appreciate how fair you are vncwilliam.

^Come on guys, let's drop the arguing and get back to the topic which is MJ's estate signing the largest record deal in the history of music!!

Funny when he was alive he was deemed the sick weirdo Now everyone wants a piece of the action. Im excited for all the new stuff but its sickening in a way

I really hate to say this but Michael is more popular now after he has passed than he ever was when he was alive

To disagree is not to argue. We can disagree in an admirable fashion, without calling people names and that is exactly what we are doing. I personally don't care for Sony. That is how I feel. I may be wrong in my feelings but nevertheless this is how I, ME, MYSELF feel. But for now I will agree to disagree and move on. I just wanted some on here to know they are not alone they are my neighbors in this community.
