Re: Update: Air date Nov. 8 th / Katherine Jackson May Be 'Oprah' Bound
^^^This has been said in so many different ways in this thread; however, many seem to not understand it. There seem to be some misunderstanding between the role of adult guardianship vs children's intelligence and wishes. The result is that some think that if a child is smart enough or want to do a particular thing, then it is ok for the child to do it regardless of the child's minor age. To those who think in this way, it is ok for Michael's children to be on Oprah because they are intelligent.
I think that what will happen after the interview, is that we will have those who like it and give reasons such as the children looked happy, they spoke well, Catherine spoke about Michael in a positive way, the children showed that Michael was a good dad, etc. Then we will have those who look at the broader moral, ethical, social, etc., underpinnings of the interview and will dissect the interview in a broader way.
This is true. One see a child that is happy and it's looking very intelligent, but that doesn't mean that certain challenges won't prove too hard, and in time won't do harm.
Humans got subconscious processes, and children might appear very ok after a big trauma, but deep down they can still hurt badly. Why pushing them in further stressful situations, or situations that they would look at them differently in few years...?
In my opinion those children entered into public attention too soon - 2 weeks after their father death, at memorial. Maybe it helped in some way, however was way too soon. Then the Grammies... That was totally unnecessary and again too soon... Why put them to collect awards for their father? Now this interview, even if they would appear shortly, why should they help to their father legacy? They can do it so well when they will be adults.
Meanwhile that legacy can be enforced by a united voice of the family, by them not going to tabloids, by stopping various stories about Mike being as manipulated, druggie puppet and fake interventions. Or about Omar, or etc It would be easier to do that. Mike children won't be necessary then.
Prince, Paris, Blanket only duty is to grow beautifully and harmoniously, not to help in the image of their father. For this, stories from third parties are enough, stories that tells us how smart, educated, good kids they are.
