It indicates nothing. Seriously. Detecting deception is just a bit more diverse than that. I'll give you an example. When Eddie is asked whether he thought MJ would want the songs released (7:10 on 2nd video), he says yes. However, his head says otherwise. Go and have a look.

I agree. People do not need degrees in lie detection. Think about it--throughout peoples lives interacting with others, they use different strategies to determine the truthfulness of friends, enemies, bosses, etc. The last time I did jury duty, in New York City, the defense attorney questioned us and told us to look at the witnesses "body language" while they gave evidence to determine the truthfulness/merit of their responses. Now, this was a case about police officers charged with burglary. Now the defense knew we were not "Detection Experts." The point is that people evaluate these things all the time--whether their conclusions are "accurate," is another thing.

more than accuracy how about "bias"?

all of us have an opinion about this subject and we bring our bias into this "human lie detector" situation. as none of us can claim to be neutral we really cannot objectively determine whether they were lying or not.

Teddy, Cascios etc they know what the "mystery" behind those tracks. Use you brain guys. I am not not an album supporter and I am not going to buy it because I do not to feel guilty after the truth will come out.

Yes, Ivy you are right. In making our decisions we bring a bias into it. This can be said for anything we do, unless we are doing an experiment under clinical conditions, and still the human bias is present. This is the human condition and we make decisions based on our opinions all the time.

The lead singer in these Cascio songs is not Michael Jackson. It's not Jason Malachi either....And no, my conclusion has not changed since I first heard these leaks before Cascio and Riley were on Oprah, and my conclusion will not change.

Wow! My first time in this thread, looked at the poll, and I was shocked! So many people voted that they thought the vocals are completely fake. Almost as many as those who belive they're real!! Wow! I mean I completely understand about when Breaking News came out because I was one of those who believed it wasn't MJ's voice. But honestly, I feel like this completely opened the flood gates and now people are randomnly claiming that songs aren't MJ. What's next, claiming that songs on previous MJ albums were fake? I mean I'm all four people expressin their opinion, I'm just so shocked that until now people still believe his vocals are fake on the album. And just to be honest, I haven't actually listend to any Jason Malachi songs, so I'm gonna go do that now. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind. But, I'm just so amazed that this many people think their fake. Thought it was over..

Hmm... why would people claim the songs on previous MJ albums were fake? The circumstance in which this album is produced is totally different.

It was an exaggeration. I think the point is, it really doesn't matter what the truth is because both sides have made their minds up and no amount of proof to the contrary will change anything. People believe what they want to believe. Humans are stubborn that way. Sorta how so many refused to believe Michael was a good and decent person. They preferred to vilify him as some sort of monster.

I know silly, I was being sarcasatic lol. I've just listened to We've Had Enough and I feel that he uses a very similar vibrato, or whatever it's called. Especially when he says "within a distant lannnnddd" and the following line as well. I don't know. I listened to a couple of these comparison videos on youtube and I can definitely understand the controversey. I just don't want to go through this whole thing again :(..

Sorry! I usually get it when people are trying to be sarcastic. May be because I love Michael's legacy catalog too much that I became too sensitive. :cheeky:

I understand what you mean

I wish there was a simple and direct way to put an end to this controversey. Teddy said that Michael loved cotroversey and that he would love all of this confusion going on. But I strongly disagree. Michael would never feel happy that his fans are going through so much heartache just to know if it's actually his voice on a song. He would be disappointed by the people working on this album if they were really hiding something.

Completely agreed. This whole Breaking News fiasco did take away a lot of confidence I have in Sony and the Estate. Acutally, I can never see any future project the same way again. If Sony screwed up the mix of Breaking News stream on purpose, I have to say that's a cheap PR stunt.

It was not a PR stunt.

Agree, asedora, that was not a pr stunt. And don't just blame it on breaking news. If Monster or KYHU was that first release, it would have been the same response.

And yes, my opinion has changed.

I now believe EVEN MORE that the cascio songs are not Michael.

this forum was in much better shape BEFORE these cascio songs were released and we all just enjoyed Michael's music that he left to us when he was here. In all his 50 years, his music has NEVER separated his fans. And there's the cascio songs doing the exact opposite. Just goes to show that Michael was something special, and the ONLY person that can complete his work and it a sucess is that genius himself and no one else. If a Michael Jackson song is completed by someone else other than Michael, then it will ALWAYS remain incomplete.

Michael would not want this album out. Because Michael was a true genius.

Thank you for this wonderful quote ! And I completely agree with you.

Hahaha. Believe what you want. And I shall believe what I want.

Edit: some of you might be interested to know that Teddy Riley has opened a new blog and a formspring account:

Yeah saw teddy's blog and also read some new quotes from him in the english press that are very telling. The man looks to me to be losing the plot. Teddy is deluded. The only reason he did these tracks was for money and attention. Seriously read the quotes, it's obvious.

Quotes from Teddy in press today..... with these quotes he hangs himself in my opinion. Wow his arrogance and disrespect to the family, fans and even Quincy Jones is unreal. Gobsmacked.

"He insists that his friend Jackson would have approved: "I'm confident he would have wanted his message out there, and that's what counts," he says. In fact, Riley is so pleased with the way Michael turned out that he's optimistic for even more posthumous releases. "They have enough [material]," he says. "Because Michael's songs are all about love, we could take vocals from here, put it with vocals from this. It's easy to do and I've demonstrated that." Producing songs in this way was a first for Riley, and he admits "it was quite interesting working on it and not having him to come in and do the vocals over".

Although that is one of the main arguments of the album's detractors, Riley has short shrift for his critics. "It put me in a position where I had to fight for my friend," he says, defending his role in its release. "I fought against his family – big time. The only reason I fought against them all and fought against the fans was to make them believe that this is Michael Jackson's vocals."

He says the family's objections were "disappointing" and that it should not have been a public matter, "especially when you're reaping the benefits". And he is equally dismissive of veteran producer Quincy Jones. "Look at his age. He can barely hear you talk. How the hell could he hear Michael? Anybody who says [it is not Jackson on the album], I do have a comeback, because you're not right. That's just the bottom line."

Ok, I do have a question, it seems I missed something.
Who runs the Estate ? Who is in charge for releasing of the songs ?
I am afraid there will be trouble in the future. :(

wow, teddy riley is really a guy that you can just love, right?

so you guys really think that michael would have loved this? "take vocals from here, put it with vocals from this." like in breaking news, kyhu and monster.

and then talking crap about quincy jones? now how rude is that.

Sure is acting strange. He also claims on twitter that he will be co directing the video for Hollywood tonight ´featuring women going to hollywood´ God help us.

if a guy tells me "Because Michael's songs are all about love, we could take vocals from here, put it with vocals from this. It's easy to do and I've demonstrated that." (quote teddy riley) then sorry, i'm starting to get serious doubts about production quality and authenticity.

you really sure that michael would've wanted that, "take vocals from here and put it with vocals from this, it's easy to do"?

wake up, all you people who furiously defend eddie cascio and teddy riley.

I have a feeling that sooner rather than later the shit is going to hit the fan in a big way...

I would have thought that most of you would have learned by now not to be so quick to judge people. Especially when you have no facts or evidence.

Wow. Is he for real?

Completely off topic, but Teddy's beard is drawn on right??? With a marker pen? Sort of like the side of Jermaine's head?

Wow. Is he for real?

why are you surprised?

for a minute put yourself to Teddy's position. Think that you are a long-time producer with a certain reputation and you worked on an album and now people are calling you a liar publicly - with no proof I must add. His whole reputation is on the line.

so he doesn't take it lying down and in an attack and protect mode. Can you blame him?
