Michael would not be crucified by just the media, but by every one on earth.
Everyone?
Probably a good sized number, yes, but I wouldn't say "everyone."
When will the two sides of this debate learn to not presume that each know and understand the man more than the other?
EDIT: Actually, I think I may be able to answer my own question partially.
What we are dealing with is the very natural response to self-perservation from facing a pain that one feels would be too hard to take. This is what propels us sometimes to debate our point with extreme zeal.
Looking at one side, for those who have accepted Michael's death from the beginning, the possibility of his returning alive after all the months of they having accepted his being gone... which on a daily basis is still almost too painful to bear...to realize they had gone through this pain, when it was not based on truth, would be too much for them. Just plain too much. Imagine?
The other side, after months of hanging on to hope to finally come to that place of knowing absolutely that Michael who they love is truly, truly gone and will never be back on this earth, and knowing they have held on to something all this time that was delusional and not based on truth, would be too much for them. Just plain too much. Imagine?
That is why when each faction is communicating with the other there needs to be the utmost sensitivity and understanding for both parties. Trying to change the perspective of the other through arguing and debate, will accomplish no change in anyone's mind. Only time will change one's beliefs and perspective.
There are those that are not neatly placed in either group but are on the fence and are trying to remain objective. And of course their stance should equally be respected and they should be sensitive when communicating with the other two groups of thought.
There is a lot of indignation going on that is causing some to feel justified in being too forceful in their arguments for their side. Please rethink this.
