i'm sorry, but the patient does not get to dictate to their doctor. (after 9/11, i asked my doctor for "something" to calm my nerves because i didn't want to travel by nyc subway. He told me no, give it some time and i'd be fine. He was right, after a while, i was fine. That's how a real doctor acts, in my opinion.)

murray was supposed to be in charge, not michael. Michael jackson was a lot of things, but he was never a doctor, to my knowledge. I have no idea what michael asked for, but if he asked for propofol, murray should have said "no, we will address your sleep issues with a specialist who deals with sleep issues."

I have no idea what Michael asked for, but IF he asked for Propofol, Murray should have said "NO, we will address your sleep issues with a specialist who deals with sleep issues."

And unless you have spoken to EVERY NON-FAN in America, your theory is moot, in my opinion.

Thank you very much for taking the time to keep us updated. Also the 2 potential jurors that said they never heard of this case....what do they do live under a rock ...I have a hard time believing that.

You just have to be an adult to be on the jury right? Honestly, most of my friends didn't even know that there was a case going on about Michael's death. They thought he died of natural causes... so maybe those two potentials thought something similar? Or maybe they don't watch the news?

thank you for the answer Ivy...I have some mixed feelings about the type of jurors they are looking for..retired folks...folks from corporations.

no that's not the specific type. The thing is this is not a normal case. They expect it to go on for 2 months so they need to find people who can attend it for 2 months and that their life wouldn't be affected by it - such as they won't get fired. Government employment and bigger corporations have "jury duty" in employment process - meaning that if you get called for a jury duty they have to let you attend and cannot fire you for it.

So in short they are looking for people that wouldn't be put into hardship because of 2 months of juror duty.

Ivy---is this just a misprint in the article--the May 4th date for both voir dire and opening statements? I think voir dire will take longer than just a few days too.

they can be relatively older in age as well. For example I know that my grandmother knows nothing about the case as well. All she knows that Michael is dead and that's that. (she doesn't know Murray, she doesn't know homicide, she doesn't know the case - she hates news).

It's not about unbiased selection necessarily, it's about finding a group of people willing to put their bias, opinion, emotions and perceptions aside and make decision based on what is presented to them and what the rules call for.

that girl was probably following the orders given to her by THE DEFENSE and we all know that shit rolls down hill so she probably got the wrap for it.I don't trust that defense at all..they are known liars.

That Miranda chick has been doing this crap for the past 2 years.. she's the one that kept putting out the statement that Murray gave ' MJ nothing that should've killed him'.. She is the one that told Murray to go to Forest Lawn for those fake pics and also having him go to the church in Texas with his patients. She is in PR and has been doing this since day one when Murray ran off and got hooked up with Chernoff in Texas after he murdered Michael.

Court Hearing March 24th, 2011. My notes from inside the court room.

Restricted hearing requiring only 6 public seats which even some of the media had to participate in.

This hearing was for the Jury Selection Procedure which Murray attended as well.

No family present.

Due to elevator problems and security reasons the Jury Selection Assembly Procedure was moved to the 5th floor, in dept.107. Counsel and staff and public (us 6 people) were to be re-directed and escorted there after the Judge made some procedures clear to us.

His disclosures:

1.) He would be swearing in 160 prospective jurors in the assembly room.

2.) He would then present Murray to the prospective jurors.

3.) He would explain the procedure to the prospective jurors.

4.) Prospective jurors would be advised that this case would take 40-45 days and that they would need to come back on May 4th and expect to be available all the way up until July 1st.

5.) He would then ask every prospective juror to fill out a very short 3-page questionnaire which would include the question whether they would be able to serve on this case or claim a hardship (reason to not be able to serve). He expected that out of the 160 prospective jurors, up to 80-100 of them would claim hardship. This questionnaire has nothing to do with the questionnaire regarding the case which is 27 pages long.

The Judge then told us this questionnaire evaluation shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes and that once the prospective jurors were handed the questionnaire that the session would be private and secure. Once filled out the questionnaires would be handed to counsel for review (Prosecution and Defense).

The Judge stated that all questionnaires would be sealed until all questionnaires were filled and would then be released immediately and become a public document.

The judge brought up that several internet sites had been posting supposed “leaked” questionnaires online. He said he was concerned and wanted to find out the potential source of these questionnaires. However, the Judge said he read one of the site’s questionnaires and claimed that not a single one of the questions mentioned were accurate or true and that it was utter “nonsense”.

Then all media was asked to leave the court room and only the 6 of us were left alone with counsel, staff and Murray.

We were then escorted by Sherriff deputies out of the court room and through secret corridors and elevators. We were then brought into a room with 159 prospective jurors all staring at us coming in. We were allocated reserved seats facing all of them from the side.

We had been specifically told to not interact with any prospective jurors or even with each other. No media was allowed to intend except a couple of court allocated reporters. One of which I know very well and has interviewed me before.

As I watched the prospective jury pool I have to say it seemed fairly well balanced according to age, ethnicity and gender. Some were asleep…

The Judge then came in the followed the procedure he told us about but one thing shocked me horrendously! He announced the case was against Conrad Murray who was supposedly accused of administering a fatal dose of Propofol to Michael Jackson on…JUNE 28th, 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Murray then entered the room and there were obvious reactions from the prospective jurors. I watched and saw some have very clear reactions. Most knew who and what the case was about before the judge even mentioned the name Michael Jackson.

The judge then made them all rise and take oath. Judge asked if anyone present had NOT heard of the case before. Only 2 prospective jurors said they hadn’t.

Counsel presented themselves individually and so did Murray. He rose, looking uncomfortable and said “Good morning ladies and gentlemen”.

When explaining the importance of not lying under oath by punishment or perjury and to not discuss the case with ANYONE, the Judge read through a list of ways to not discuss, share or resort to anything to seek advice in the case (law book rules)….one of them was: “Do not consult the Bible about this case”…..!!!!!!! And “Do not make experiments with this case in mind”……Are you fucking kidding me???!!!!!!!!!!!! To top it off, he made jokes about the catered food the prospective jurors would have to eat and that it wouldn’t a culinary experience.

We were then led out, given the option to go back to 9th floor. I went back for a while. Counsel went into chambers. Nothing would happen publicly so I left and went to Forest lawn and watched from a distance the Elisabeth Taylor memorial, sitting in Baby Land overlooking Holly Terrace.

as she says it's one of the rules - not something that the judge made up.

It basically means that when making their decision they need to base their decision on what they were presented and to the law and not religious beliefs.

Because every religion could see some death/ punishment acceptable for a crime (eye for an eye principal) or could call for total forgiveness of crimes. Law on the other hand requires people to give appropriate convictions and punishments to people according to the legal standards.

I love it when they make a fool of themselves, which happens a lot. The defense is feeding them a lot of trash which we should expect since Murray was in NYC this weekend. Everybody arm yourselves because the defense will through some dirty stuff around. Notice that the AP report shows what Murray's side think but not the prosecution's. They also make Murray's theories seem as the truth. Thank goodness we are following the case ourselves.

you need to calm down.. Have you spoken to every non-fan? Most non-fans I know say the doctor is at fault. No credible, competent doctor gives anyone anesthesia at home period. And the trial is about whether or not Murray provided the proper standard of care, not if MJ asked for it. Murray could've easily said NO Mike, I will help you find a safer method with a sleep specialist.

She was not making a false generalization. She said "a lot" of non fans said this. You all misquoted and misunderstood and had her saying "every". No one can tell me that "a lot" of fans do not think MJ played some part in this. Many do not even care enough to educate themselves about the circumstances of the case; and, all they hear are tabloid stories about him being a drug addict out of control. Lies spurred on by his own family. What do we expect for a lot of people to think?

Ingelief was simply expressing a concern. And because it points to something not popular, without reading carefully, words were put into her mouth. I can't help but thinking if we read a little more carefully and try to understand a little more before snapping on one another, we can all get through this a little easier.

1. Please be a little more understanding of people not speaking English as a first language.

2. Please read carefully.

3. For most of us fans, we don't have any other place to go to speak about our fears of what is happening with MJ's justice. If we can't speak to one another about our fears, where can we go? We can tell the difference between a troll and someone sincerely trying to understand. It is sad if we as fans cannot speak to one another and communicate because what we say is unpopular. And, it is sad that any of us has to feel weak and lost because we are cast out by our fellow fans. Please think about how your comments may affect someone.
