Lady gaga and Michael Jackson?? WHAT? are they even at the same talent level on anything???, Michael Jackson is a genius who sings since he was 3 made his first record when 5 and reached fame when 9 (thasts a record already  ) , lady gaga is new a singer, who does commercial music and is mediocre (sorry just to be honest ;) )....

Why the so called lady gaga fans are so into making her idol  as if she was a great thing?? dont they know it already ??? i mean they are her fans , why the need to show it so much, its because deep in their hearts they know she is very very very COMMON, she is more like madonna, just a commercial common SINGER... Madonna has years in the industry right??? but will NEVER BE A GENIUS, its the same with this girl....

Lady Gaga fans (wont call her "gaga") you need to compete with Ma-do-nna...

Michael Jackson and lady gaga in the same sentece... i take it as an insult...

bye :)

I don't understand how you can compare a woman who's been famous since around 2 years and whose clothes gets more attention than her music with a man who's been hardworking since the age of 5 and who's been in music business for around 40 years.
I understand why there is a Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait, but not why a tribute of the same size is referred to Mrs Gaga.

This is ridicolous.

who is comparing michael and gaga anyways??
let her get this portrait. who cares.
maybe we as MJ fans should stay more respectful and leave inappropriate behaviour to the gaga fans, where it belongs..
because these fans are just angry that gaga will never reach the class MJ has.

I am very tired if this lady gaga nonsense. Sick of her fans trying to compete and beat michael. I don't think she deserves it and tbh i'm annoyed that the artist didn't wait until michael's portrait was finished. I don't think it's respectful to mj for him to be encouraging this competition.

I agree I dont like this competition. At first I loved the artists work and what he was doing on the portrait and now this competition thing dosent really make sense. He should have waited until he had the one for Michael finished.

Maybe Lady Gaga should have sung the final song on Invincible, looking at the hysteria in this thread.

Marsha Ambrosious, thats a real artist, i only discuss real artistry, i wont discuss Lady gaga, stop these threads... she is a singer ok, right? but she has nothing in common with Michael Jackson, she may be like taylor Swift or any commercial thing that the record companies decide to promote, other than that she is a common singer...bye bye

I think this thread needs to be closed..........

Gaga fans have nothing on MJ fans..............

We have stood by Michael through thick and thin...........and we will continue to do for as long as we can.........

There's nothing more to say!!!!!!

I think Lada Gaga is among one of the most innovative, creative, talented and risk-taking pioneers of our time. Still though, I agree with those on here who say Michael is there life (which prob) includes this entire forum lol); no one can compete with the man. He's amazing. Dot for MJ!

I find you post interesting. I will agree with her being a risk-taker although Madonna, Michael, Prince took more risks. However, I do not know what you mean about our time. Do you mean 2010? Musical track records show that in terms of most innovative, creative, and talented she would not fall into the MOST category. What facts are you looking at to make your comparisons by the way. I like her music although I see her videos as disturbing. Do you mean her videos and clothing are the most creative, talented and innovative, or are you talking about her music?

Thanks. It's sometimes hard for me to find the words to say what it is I need to say. Thanks though.

When I was refering to Gaga taking risks, I was touching base on her age. Yes, all the other pioneers in music have also taken risks and worked their way to the top, but Gaga is still relatively young and will have to eventually move with the ever-changing music business. In other words, she too will have to keep on reinventing herself in order to stay current.
I do think that like Madonna, Ga coming to New york by herself when she was merely 17 was a huge risk, much against her parents will-but she made it.
When I mention our time, I'm refering too the last 25-30 years in pop-music. The late seventies we had disco of course, then new wave, the mid 80's proved a slew of heavy metal, pop, new wave etc, then the 90's, rap, hip-hop and dance... so much dance. lol. In the late 2000's, Gaga burst on the scene, totally new sound, singing, and those costumes, mind you some.. lol. She definitely stood out from any other artist going. These btw are not actual facts, just something I've observed while writing music and listening to it over the past 27, 28? years. Crap, now I'm showing my age! :(
Yes, I'm also refering to her costumes, the way she always makes people want to see her, what she'll wear next etc. She's a shocker, but she knows how to just as Madonna poslished her craft, of getting noticed. If she pushes buttons, she may not get respect, but recognition. I'd rather have respect though... Her musicianship, she plays piano very well, good voice, powerful pop.
I hope this explains what I meant to say. :)

Oh, I got you.

Oh good. Sorry for the length btw. lol I tend to abbreviate things and leave important points out.

The length is fine. I wanted you to explore and extend the meaning of your comments, and you did so.

The good thing about this thread is that it is making more fans aware of the Dot Portrait for Michael. Maybe the artist can complete it soon.

I don't think anyone feels threatened by her. There's no real reason to feel that way--she's mediocre and more famous for her outfits than her music, truly pathetic. In any case, the reason why so many are greatly angered is because something which was supposed to be a unique tribute to our idol is basically being desecrated and being turned into a mindless competition against Lady Gaga and her (somewhat delusional, IMO) fanbase. That's a bit of a slap in the face, and people have got reason to feel irked by the artist's decision. However, it is his work, so I am reluctant to criticize him personally--he is at liberty to do as he wishes. I just hoped that he would grant us a real tribute, free of any inane competition with people who have nothing on Michael.

Enough... lady gaga is not threaten, but there is a threaten and thats the media, media completley destroyed Michael Jackson, and now they need someone to talk about but decided to do it in a more candid way, media KILLED Michael Jackson, and loves lady gaga, now that also can END for her too...the day media no longer needs lady gaga, they would drop her, like they did with Britney Spears...

this girl has the full support of her record level, she has (for now)the money to use on shiny things, but her voice, her songs she is SIMPLE, SIMPLE, how can you even dare to compare Michael songs to this poker face singer???? compare Billie Jean, Heartbreak Hotel, Threatened, Jam, Workin' day and night, etc etc to catchy commercial poppy songs like just dance, bad romance, or alejandro, come ON! she is a good midiocre singer who has media support now

anyway its not fair to all the geniuses in history to treat this woman as if she was one!!, is not her the treaten, the threaten is the MEDIA, media is the one that can put you UP and its the one that can bury you, its injustice, media is like what happend to Beethoven... and im sick of lady gaga fans here... yes she weres shiny dresses and thinks herself gnius  , but ther FACT IS she is simple, she is not musical genius, and will never be...and she should enjoy the tiem she has now that media needs her, because in the blink of an eye that support can dissapear....

i wont attack him, but i no longer support the "Dot artist" he's commercial....., and about lady gaga... her fanbase is smaller than you think Bloodsnofsky... dont fall into medias fraud... facebook, twitter and that stuff is just little piece of the people in this planet, the real music lovers and real MJ fans ....

It's probably worth reminding people that MJ really liked Lady Gaga.

It's not as if there is anyone alive today who could honestly compete with what MJ has achieved, which is what makes the responses in this thread so funny. Let's get real. Anyone who feels that that standpoint is under threat needs to take a deep breath and go out for a walk.

She could fizzle out next year, or be around for the next 30 years...who knows. The point is, saying she's talentless when she obviously has much musical talent (see YouTube) is just stupid. You're not "defending MJ's honour" by suggesting that. You're just making yourselves seem irrational.

It really is no big deal.

I'm confused why there's this competition in the first place.. I personally love both Michael and Gaga, but they're on two separate levels and Michael's legacy has been around for far more years than Gaga who is still relatively new. Ugh, don't see why there's so much hate

^^^^is not hate, but rather a feel that gaga virtual fans want to put her in the same level that Michael Jackson...(im talking about the artistic in a whole, not the internet and internet fans... which to me are well, not real fans), gaga is commercial, Michael was extremely artistical, he was not fake, gaga is a faked thing, she does it for the money, Michael did it for the music and originality, he dont have to go ridiculous dressing so that they would speak about him, Michael would appear on pajamas and everybody would be like "OH My God!! is Michael Jackson there!!!!!!!" why?? the answer is he was naturally magnetic, while lady gaga is nothing like that, the very britney spears is much more magnetic than this woman gaga, thats my point, and the dot artist said it was a tribute, now is a competition created by the virtual fans of this woman, see, she is not at his level,

you can Put James Brown, Elvis, The Beatles etc etc in competition with MJ, but gaga, come on.... and is not hate its all fair the fact that she is not original but wants to call attention, its ok, to have dance poppy songs like Alejandro in order to achive fame and money, because the reality is mediocre ear loves lady gaga, and does NOT UNDERSTAND MICHAEL'S SOUND....is not hate, but is not fair to Michael... thats all

Exactly..........

The media wants us fans to get angry so they can bash us even more!!!

well said.
I agree.
Let's wake up, guys!! And most of all, let's avoid falling on media trap over and over and over again? Can't you see this is managed by them? Just a few words here, a few words there, then a few posts in certain forums and there you go, a new "issue" to talk about.... baaaaaa!!
