Got the Hots sounds like it was written as he was coming out of his "Off the Wall" phase. It could easily be a B-side to a song from that album.

That said, it's easily the weakest out of the otherwise amazing bunch of Thriller outtakes leaked so far (Nite Line, Hot Street, Carousel, etc). It's fairly obvious why it was left off the album. However, there is some killer potential buried in this otherwise dated and unpolished song. The lyrics are pure early-MJ, some of his delivery is amazing ("ROCK it, BaaaBAAAY". Sends me off the edge every time), and the chorus is perfect.

Worth it for the MJ completist, but one of his more underwhelming outtakes.

But hot DAMN if it isn't catchy. There's some hot stuff in here.

with these vocals this song could be easily transformed in a great 2008 dance remix,that`s what i believe.

I think if MJ was to take this song, re-work it and update the 80's sound it would be a hit for sure!

That said, I still love this demo. Ya gotta love the 80's sound ain't ya!

To me, the song sounds like a demo for Thriller mixed with a demo for Streetwalker and made into one highly mutated disfigured song. Its all over the place in my opinion.

The song was never finished!!!!! Its more of a demo NOT a full version, so when we comment here it is just about what potential the song would have had! I would have loved to have listened to the finished article, we probably wont ever now :( but its a great Off the wall style song!

I like how "off" it sounds. It seems to be all over the place but he makes it work and flow. I like Michael's "different" songs (like Streetwalker).

Although, having said that, Quincy was also the one who didn't want 'Billie Jean' on 'Thriller.' He thought the message in the song was a little too controveral. Michael was the one who insisted that it stay. So that there just proves Michael knows great work and what works.

Can you imagine, the musical world without 'Billie-Jean?'...no sexy classy video with Michael in that black leather suit, no amazing intro beat on the dance floor,....it's almost scary..:unsure:...^_^

are you sure he dint want bilie jean and thriller??? ive heard they have deferences about the name michael wanted to call b.j and quincy she is not my lover.in bad michael wanted streetwalker in and qincy another part of me... quincy was genieus anyway he was many years in the bissines with the bigest names and he had produce too many albums before thriller he had the knowledge and michael the talend. thats way of the wall thriller and bad are michaels best albums,who can tell michael now what to do??? none!!!maybe people around him express opinions but the final cut belongs to michael. which is good for sure but you know sometimes artists needs someone with the genius of quincy...

Well thank GOD that MJ had his own mind and knew what he wanted cause without Billie jean on Thriller, there wouldn't be Motown 25, there wouldn't be the whole craze/trademarks of the white glove/fedora hat/glittery socks. I know he wears all of those items SEPERATELY but when he wears thme together its Billie Jean. The song, video and Motown 25 performance is part of what helped Thriller with its early success (before the Thriller video debut)
I am kinda upset that MJ didn't take the same stand with Streetwalker cause that song is hot and sexy...imagine the video for it! But I guess since TWYMMF was on there it wasn't needed.
