Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Rehear. for BJ????

LOL! Mello, I nearly fell off my chair when I read it. I knew who it was from.

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Rehear. for BJ????

Don't mention his name. I let that stay on here only because the poster was smart enough not to do that, given our rules on him and that the message is basically benign -- this time.
Oh, sorry for that..lol.
I don't see why you let that stay on here, tho. The fact that it's not negative doesn't make it any more true. It's still the same person behind that crap & I don't trust him at all.

I'd die if Michael decided to perform. Who knows, mabye my fav journalist is right for the very first time in his life. Doubt it but hey..

Only because it's speculation.

Like everyone else is doing.

Cuz I really don't believe it.

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Rehear. for BJ????

well it's enough for me to see him there, even if he did not perform, but he should start mingling at those occasions as before

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Rehear. for BJ????

It will be great to see him there, no question about it.

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Rehear. for BJ????

But would would fox say that he has been rehearsing at a Burbank studio and keeping away from the Staples Center, where the Grammy show takes place.?? Why would they lie?

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Rehear. for BJ????

I wouldn't want it to be Michael if he's performing an old song...just becasue like some other people have said, I don't think he should be bringing back a performance from 20-something years ago as his first public performance in years...

But if it's a "surprise performance" with Michael and the other artists singing one of the Thriller remixes, I could see that...that would be cool.

But I think it's Janet anyway.

:D

Ya but he is Michael Jackson he can sing and dance to his classics if he wants.

Are We Optimistic About All-Star Tribute?

Being brutally honest right now, I've never seen a tribute that was a total smash effort in recent years...I mean of all the tributes I've seen on television for many other artists, including Michael. I've often been let down by the performances.

Can we possibly get a knock out tribute that would make Michael want to get up on stage and show everybody that they can't even top him?

What if the tribute was "smoking hot" would people get to thinking "WOW! That was better than Michael's ever done it."

Would he, could he, dare he get up there and smoke 'em...burn it up and say, "Now that's how it's really done.":D

Of course, I'm stretching a bit because is this something Michael would have in his character to do...if there were such great performances put forth by the All-Stars?

I'm just going to sit and watch and criticize, if need be. I might be impressed or I might say..."Ah, hell. I knew it."-_-

Anyway, I'm going to love seeing him sitting there taking it all in.:p

Re: Are We Optimistic About All-Star Tribute?

no WAY they will say someone is better than MJ - come on, they are all RIDICULOUS compared to Michael and everyone is aware of that. If he will perform, we must wait and see. But still , he is in such a positive spotlight you just can't be negative 'bout it,right? :)

AW: Are We Optimistic About All-Star Tribute?

Ain't no second Mike out there! As I said many times before. He should use the Grammys to get back on the map as a performer. Even if its a new medley. P did it 2004 and that was tight!

I don't expect anything from Fergie, Kanye, Will.i.am or whoever will perform. Their remixes and new versions are lame as hell and the tribute won't come close anything Mike ever did.

Don't get me wrong, if today's kids just get it by listenin to today's singers so be it.

Re: Are We Optimistic About All-Star Tribute?

the performance in itself with the other artists will not be good.. In MJ standard, not even close.. BUT considering why they are doing it, people seeing it.. I LOVE IT..

The idea and consept of them dedicating a performance to MJ always goes over well with me.. Showing the younger generation how to RESPECT a legend.

There idols giving it up to MJ.. that's what I love

Re: Are We Optimistic About All-Star Tribute?

A tribute is not a competition it is honoring the person you are tributing
they might do a medley or reinactment of Thriller - not sure what they
will do buy - no need to criticise - something done out of love and respect
to honor Michael .. It's not going to be something to compare against his talent.
It is to honor his talent and should be - viewed in that manner ..

I will aplaud and graciously except their loving effort as will Michael.

Dont know why you percieved it as being somthing to compare against Michael -
A tribute is done to Honor _ and Im am so proud they are doing it.

We dont have to speculate if he will appear/ perform or not and just wait and see what will happen.

I agree Bee. I think it is great they are honouring him. It's great to see him respected for his music after all that he has been through. God, when you think back to just 3 years ago when he was going through such trauma and now 3 years later he may be sitting watching a tribute to him smiling and clapping and enjoying himself. Fans are putting way too much emphasis on it and wanting Michael to perform etc. Let it be what it is. If Michael turns up to watch then that is a plus. If he does a surprise performance then that will be great too but at the end of the day I don't care whether he does or not. He doesn't need to perform for this. It's a tribute and celebration of T25. I am just simply going with the flow.

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Rehear. for BJ????

Hmm, well I still think it's Janet. Michael will probably show up to watch, but it's very unlikely that he'll perform IMO.

I hope I'm wrong, though.

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Rehear. for BJ????

That's BS that he would have cancelled because of info leaks. Maybe he wants people to think that he really cancelled, maybe even some of his closest people.. If he had been preparing, he wouldn't have had no reason to cancel, and btw most of the people know T25 is out..

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Rehear. for BJ????

It's in 2 days. No use torturing yourself over it, I don't think. There's no reason to get your hopes up and hold the MJ stuff to some unpromised standard, but at the same time it'd be great if he performed. I'd probably say he won't, but who knows?

Michael Jackson Won't Perform at Grammy Awards

Sorry, Jackson fans. The King of Pop won't be making a special appearance at the Grammys.

"Extra" has learned that reports of a special performance Sunday night are false. The show's Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich has put an end to speculation, dismissing rumors that he's taking the stage.

LOL thank you. it really is such a drama queen thing to do but most importantly, it would have been his loss and his loss only. makes absolute no business sense to kill it just based on that silly notion.

Re: Surprise Performer At The Grammys!

well have they officially announced the THRILLER tribute? If not that's probably all it is... I did not see anything surrounding the tribute on there website.. Unless I over looked it..
It's been on the commercials. Some sort of T-25 tribute. That's all we do know.

He can "do it if he wants", but he's too smart to.

Good, let's hope this official denial spreads before the false rumor of him performing does...

Re: MJ @ Grammys....Will He or Won't He, Part II Extra says NO

I know some fans don't want MJ performig older songs, but it's very rare that a artist has the 1# selling album of all time and they celebrate it after 25 years. Actually this is a 1st

If Prince's Purple Rain was the 1# selling album of all time and they celebrated it after 25 years,i think he would perform some tracks from the album live.

This isn't just some Greatest Hits release. It's the celebration of the 1# selling album of all time.
