well I think he should hurry up before folks lose interest.. we have to remember Mike has to overcome a lot of obstacles with all the negativity over the years. He just can't pop up and expect things to go well

Well, yah he's not gonna be there. BET Honors was shot Like a month ago, in DC. and NEYO Deffinantly said Michael's not gonna be there!!! So Dont hold ur breaths ppls. But he'll deffinantly MAKE A HUGE COMEBACK, One of these days!!!:punk:

I dont think any "folks" would lose interest. You could see that when T25 came out!!! They still buy his work!!! so no worries!!!:D

It's the award shows that keep jumping the gun and announcing things before things are finalized. I don't know why it's so hard to understand.

Michael NEXT performance could very well be his MOST important performance EVER. His first performance after the trial. He would not just throw a performance together for a tribute to thriller. He will perform when the time is right, for his NEW album.


Everyone talks about the 1995 MTV performance like it's his best performance.. WHY was it extra great? Because it was his first performance since the 1993/1994 allegations. He knew the world would be watching his every move. This means extra rehearsal, extra special, extra great.. This next one would be more important than any other performance he's done.

Yes, he can. Like said above, he's been doing this ever since he became solo. He never released any new album with less than a 3-year period from the previous one. And yet, when he did release them, they were still a success and suprise! "Folks" never lost interest.

I agree with you that this time might be a little different 'cause all the negativity caused by the trial and stuff, but I think somehow it all adds to make interest even bigger! :)
The world is just as anxious to see his next move as we all are. It's gonna be interesting!! :dancin:

Plus, I think Thriller 25 just gave us a little taste of how it's gonna be...

It's gonna be a BAM! :D

I'm grown, black, bright, talented, and special- I still don't feel like I have the right to do what ever I want to do when I want to do it- especially when other people have worked so hard to do something special for me.

Superstardom comes at a huge price- has he ever in the past not showed up to a TRIBUTE?

Now if it is a clash of schedules and he opted out in plenty of time for them to X this thing- then like I said BET is gonna look silly for that.
 
Ok, I don't think he is going to be there or anything, because it was already filmed and I think we would have heard something. What I don't get though, is if this is an Honors show and they are honoring like six people, why is Neyo or whoever singing a Michael song??

Wouldn't the performances have something to do with the people being honored??

Maybe he was gonna go and couldn't... I don't know...weird though.
 
U acting like a TRIBUTE (one out of 1324324 thats been done of him) is suuuuccchh a huge deal! IT'S NOT! LOL

And who knows his reasons for not showing, WE certainly don't.

And if people don't lose interest after 7 years then they aren't gonna lose interest now.
 
I, personally, don't blame Michael for not showing up for these so-called TRIBUTES. Why? Because I think he is tributed out! It is time for Michael to release some new material and dance moves and add that to his already burgeoning legacy. If he keeps showing up for tribute after tribute, he will start being known as the guy who keeps getting tributes.....for the same old album. I don't think that Michael wants to be seen that way at all in this year, especially since he is planning on dropping something new on us.

OK, so he re-issued Thriller....the album that some folks insists on labeling him with.....and he let us all have fun with it. It debuted very well and it was promoted well. To me, it served as a reminder to the younger generation who Michael Jackson really is. Done!

Now, let's move on to the new album! Cause everbody is now READY for the new album!
 
Just saw the beginning of the show and Ne-Yo's performance was not noted, neither was MJ's tribute!

I'm figuring that just like the Grammy's, MJ was'nt gonna be inattendance, so they did'nt see the need to go ahead with his tribute.....and I was so lookin' forward to hearing Ne-Yo do his thing!

I didn't see that Neyo was mentioned either so i guess if they were running long on time they must've cut it out which makes a lot of sense since he didn't show up. i don't think it's that big of a deal though

Well do you guys think we'll have some Michael or Thriller mention tonight? How is michaeljackson.com going to mention it in on the site and it not happen But I guess I'll just wait and see.

woman they were honoring .. next Stevie Wonder is going to sing a
tribute song for Alicia Keys ..

alot can happen in the editing room.....and as I said, no mention was made of it at the beginning of the show!

Ya'll trippin, I'm not watching that ish because for one MJ isn't going to be on there and if their is a little slight mention about him, I'll get it later. I'm watching the basketball game

Sure they will - Its alread been taped .. they will mention
and show a trailer about MJ and his thriller legacy and his
charity work and then Ne-yo Will sing "Lady in my life"
as a tribute

I think there will be a tribute becuase all the singers are paying tribute
to someone and Ne-yo is going ti sing Lady In my Life - so before he sings
they will pay tribute to MJ - any way thats the format so far as I am watching it - first they pay tribute - then someone sings a song - then the person being honored comes up to except the award -

Stevie just sang a song for Alicia and now she is coming up to
the stage to except her honor award say her thanks you's

pff..I don't know what's wrong with some of yall. This is an amazing show, honoring some great AFRICAN AMERICAN leaders and pioneers. This show is really beautiful...we can enjoy something without MJ being there can't we??? This show is really positive and inspiring...I loved when Rahime (spel?) Divine sang the Black National Anthem.

you keep forgetting that as I mentioned earlier, Michael's Thriller honor, nor Ne-Yo's performance were mentioned at the beginning of the show! everybody you have seen thus far were mentioned!

Glayds Night is singing a tribute song and then she will come
up and except

These is all about special acheivments in the black community
so everyone is giving motivational speeches on how to be a success ..
