What was it that Michael would yell to his band?

Wow what an awesome case of chinese whispers...everyone's hearing something different lol.

y'know... they really should release every tour of his with subtitles! :) ..... no seriously!

and then theres those times he says "hurt me" or "hurt me chris" which i remember someone told me was his way of saying "i want the music to be so loud i can feel it"

not sure.

This thread is so funny! I don't what Bhattay means but I do know that Michael always had the sound on stage set at over 100 decibels which is bordeline sadistic. But he wanted it to be so loud it hurt.

Wow, do you guys think his hearing was okay?

If he is saying party then that is one of the ODDEST pronunciations of that word ive ever heard hahah.

I love this thread!

I studied English for several years and when it comes to Michael performing it is totally useless. LOL

And thanks for the information on the "shamone" repercussion. Geez, I didn't know people would go that far. hahaha

Wow, really?

He wanted everything "high", lol.

I don't know about his but I've been to over 100 rock/pop/opera/classical concerts over 20 years and I know mine's on the way down

Yea i made a thread about this before. I always hear "MY TOE!!!!"

I have no idea what he is saying, idk mike is known for making up words lol.
Shamone!
Hahaha! SO true!
Next we'll be hearing about a MJ dictionary, thesaurus and concordance! Lol!
i hearing - motown lol
Lol! Ace!! ;)
I thought it was Party?
But pronnouced Partay? haha
At one time I thought so too.
Haha, I've been wondering about this one as well :D I hear something like: "Pah-tay!"
And he does it often too, kinda like a personal trademark, lol.
Michael. The true innovator. :)
I always thought he was saying oooookay!

Dear Siedah
It's driving us all nuts! What the H*** did Mike used to shout at you guys before shows? Okay? Party? My Toe?

Regards
Thoroughly confused MJJC members :D
Lol! Funny!
Nooo:lmao: hahah amazing!!
Feesten DOES mean party! haha thanks for postin up! It's in Dutch btw, don't remember if Germans say that too :p.
Maybe the translators got it wrong too!
i have a answer, if someone speaks german
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QezDVApctao
goto 4:50, he will shout it
and in subtitles it says " feesten."

:swoon: Even tho I've seen it before it wasnt in this great quality.:heat:
lol mystery solved! lol you are not alone isnt really a party song hahah random time to say it haha
Right.
I thought it was just a short saying for 'Everybody'.
...but then shortened to 'body'...then 'bah-tay!'.

..you know what, I'm just gonna shut up now. Haha.
Lol. This is what I've always thought too. Sometimes it sound like that,
then other times like partay.
It definitely is an instruction for the crew
and/or band. LOL at all of us guessing!

I was thinking about this just the other day.
In many performances he does this one. I was watching my copy of
The 30th Anniversary Concert and it's quite evident in that during Billie Jean.
I'd laugh and say, "Look at MJ giving out instructions to his band!" Lol!

But we dont have an answer because no one really knoooows the answer.
Like I said, he could be saying any of those things. :D

Sorry about all the quotes, it's just that this thread made me do it!

This thread's too funny. Yeah I definitely think Michael could use a translator sometimes, just so we could know what the heck he's saying.

^ y'know... that could actually make sense!

Though I wouldn't be surprised if it was just gibberish! ;D

at the end of the yana performances..at least in denmark, sweden, munich..
I can clearly hear him say "b" as the first letter..like.. Bahtooo!
and it ends with like, oww. he pronounces it like: Batow!
really weird
!!!

OMG I found something!!!

In this clip around 3:38 he sings 'BAHTO' instead of 'body'! So it must've been body what he meant!
He sings it 2 times, hope it wasn't posted before:

oooooooooooooh good detective work!! wow, that's got to be it! I wonder if there's a language where that's what it means?

Oh, but then again, I still don't get why in other vids he just shouts "Bahto" out of the blue? lol

LOLOLOL!!!!!

Michael said all three during this performance:

I was very convinced I had posted information in this thread about the meaning of 'bahto', but I can't find it anymore! :bugeyed Probably got lost when the board was down.

Anyway, this is what I had found:

In Botswana, there’s a one-size-fits-all word.
Bahto!
It means “People!”
But, so much more.
Each situation shades it.
Bahto!
People! What trouble they do.
Bahto!
Shame. I’m so sorry this thing happened to you.
Bahto!
Lordy, Lordy, What will happen next?
Bahto!
I wish the world would slow down and give us a rest.

Maybe he heard about that word or something? :scratch:Wouldn't be surprised if so...LMAO! Can totally picture him noticing he said 'bahto' (like someone asked him the same as we or he noticed it with watching footage) and then goes to search for the meaning, finds it funny and used it from that day on..... :hysterical:

Sorry if I've missed a post here with the answer but I've always wondered what Mike shouted during TDCAU live, at the beginning when they are doing the army march.

He kinda goes... *step step step* "HEE HAA!!! *word i dont know*" Then they turn to the side and march :lmao: I think ive confused myself.

awe after 8 pages we still have no confirmation. i guess for Michael, as we all know he writes his songs and pickes a word out of the sky there for, we will not know what he is really saying...lol MJ continues to amaze me...
