Today there were a interview with Will I am on the radio. He said that he and Michael Jackson are working on his new album now, and they played TGIM 2008.

He also said that he went to a concert with prince, and he called Michael Jackson and asked if he would like to come with them and he said yes. This was at the palms, anyone knows when this was?

Yes, that was last year in lA. Prince came down and played the guitar in MJ's face, and MJ was miffed by it, so fans argued whether Prince disrespected MJ or not. That was where MJ told Will that he didn't know he could rap.:)

Well if Michael was miffed about it then I guess you could say Prince dissed him, lol. Now whether it was intentional or not, that's a whole other thing, lol. Michael shoulda grabed that guitar, yelled four and knocked Prince right outta the arena, lol.

MJ was in disguise and sitting in a quiet place. Only Prince knew who he was, so it was possible that he was showing his appresciation for Mj being there, but MJ was a bit offended by it. He did it in his face.

didn't the whole 'guitar incident' come from a really dodgy source? like some Polish website that was translated quite badly lol...

that's what i seem to remember, anyway.

edit: na my bad, seems to be a reliable German newspaper and it was a bass (lol):

http://www.sueddeutsche.de/,ra4m2/kultur/artikel/19/128804/

translation from housequake:

Sp: ... and sees Michael Jackson sitting at the table with you?

Will.i.am: Yo. He had his bass still strapped on and stops at our table. So there we sit : Michael Jackson, Chris Tucker and I. Prince stands directly before Michael Jackson and improvises on the bass: Slap! He does nothing- nothing! - and says nothing! Simply plays . What a scene! When Prince is again back on stage, Michael Jackson says to me: "Prince played his bass in the middle of my face! What's up with that?" Now now, I say: "you are finally incognito here! Imagine that Prince would have said: ', and by the way Michael Jackson sits here.' The people are already excited because of Prince, let alone, they would know that you are also here!" Yep, that was it then, the craziest night of my life.
dodgy translation, nontheless lol

I was just kidding anyway. Though it would be embarrassing if Prince came up right in your face and stood in front of you playing the guitar. Especially if you don't want to be seen, lol.

i dont think that this was embarrassing for michael i think the oposite prince went to michael and play the guitar to his ears...just for michael..i think this means prince honored michael with that..

I thought that as well, I also theought it was cute that the audience didn't even know who he was playing to.:p

(takes ten characters to laugh)

i honestly dont see this prince of this time doing something like that i believe prince got saved or something he is to old for that i don't think its about that anymore these men are 49 there not in there 20s anymore and i think if michael went to a prince concert and michael first!!! i think it was more of respect kind of like vip treatment. more like prince is cool michael and prince are my favorite singers.

man where was i when this happened??? I missed this info...Michael at a Prince concert.

I'm on the fence though, if Prince was honoring MJ, good on him and it's funny that MJ said "what was up with that???"

If Prince wasn't, that's bogus as hell

Its cool though that Mike is still hanging out with Chris Tucker though ;)

I think this was a very positive Prince-Michael Jackson encounter.
Stop trying to make it negative.

Yeah, I can't see Prince doing something like this to offend Michael. I also grew-up admiring both artists. In fact, I wanted to marry Michael and be Prince...yet in the female form of course ha ha.

I actually got to watch Prince perform in 2004 in Toronto. It was a dream come true. Now however, it seems you can't even be a fan with him taking all of his web-sites down and him along with his record company threatening to sue fans if they put anything up on the net without their permission. How are we suppossed to have fan forums if we can't even contact you, and furthermore, how can we even be fans if we can't enjoy your work?

I admire the man deeply, and I want to continue to be a fan, but it's just too hard to be a Prince fan anymore. Esspecially when you can't even FIND or discuss his work. Michael is by far more accessable with his work. He allows fan-sites, pictures (with respect) on the net of himself, Prince took everything down!

Breaks my heart. :(

I think that was his way of acknowledging MJ's presence without actually naming him which could've caused a big ruckus. Not disrespectful at all.

LOL !!!

well, the point is that we don't know what Prince meant by doing this, soooo....... until he tells us why he did it........ or, until we find out if it's even true......

there are DEFINITELY arguments to say that Prince was being a poo-head when he did it, and there are some saying that he was being friendly.....

WE DONT KNOW FOR SURE!!!!

You summed it up best:punk:

it was and chris tucker with them michael went there with chris and they were in private table with will iam and prince came up playing his guitar in michaels ears when prince left michael said to will what a heyky(am not writing it well) prince played the guidar for me. does anyone knows what this means?? heyke or heiky or something like that lol

Yes i think it was positive too.
It's cool - I wish they made a duet, that would be amazing!

PANOS, i think u mean "what the heck"

Which means -??????

 I'd love to see MJ's reaction, who cares if prince meant it negatively or not....the reaction of MJ and Tucker would be PRICELESS

Even if prince was being negative about it, i don't think it's a big deal. MJ loves competition ;) LOL

I am not even gonna lie, I do not understand the whole situation. How did Prince insult or respected MJ by doing that? What is the meaning of what Prince did to Mike? I was lost when I read it. LOL.

BTW, I think that event where Prince performed at was in Vegas during the NBA All Star game. Also, Mike and Prince and very good friends. There was never any beef. That was all the media. However, Imma be real, at times, I think Prince could have been a bit jealous of Mike. However, I like this one comment that he said when asked about Janet - "She is the genius' kid sister". The genius meaning Michael. LOL. Cute and truthful statement.

Prince respects Michael. I'm just goofing around, dang, ya'll are so sensative every time someone says anything negative about anyone, lol. I don't know what he meant by standing right in front of Michael. I don't see how that's a sign of respect, but its also hard to see why it would be a sign of disrespect. Of course, you could take it as Prince showing off in front of Michael, like "yeah, I can play this here bass guitar better then you!", lol. So, you know, Michael could be like, "So little Prince, I could moonwalk right over your ass!", lol.

If this is about 'negativeness' then how about this:

Michael Is At His Table. Prince happens to see Michael and he walks up to him with his guitar.

Prince: Eat this!

Prince starts playing the guitar like a crazy maniac in MJ's face. He turns around and suddenly hits Michael in the face with the end of his guitar.

Outraged, Michael grabs Prince's hair. Prince attacks Michael. Prince falls over and Michael moonwalks all over him. A fight goes on.

If you think about it that way, it seems more likely that it was respect.

:lol: Oh man, I almost spit my soda out on that one, lol.

MJ would beat prince's azz if they were in a fight

Gotta admit, a Prince/MJ rivalry is damn entertaining lol
