Do you guys think Michael is still capable of making hit friendly dance tunes? If you've noticed Michael hasn't exactly written a good dance tune since "The Way you make me feel" in 1988. All of his self-written songs have been sort of slow, healing and very personal. Do you think Mike still has another "Don't stop 'til you get enough" in him? something funky, yet fresh with a good singing voice

What about Jam and Remember The Time? Aren't those good dance tunes too?

I think he still can. And he did too, after the way you make me feel. There's Blood on the Dancefloor (the song, not the album). And You Rock My World kinda fits in. But... a bit more uptempo would do. And I do think he can. Now if only he wants to.... ;-)

I'm personally not interested in more pop/R&B dance songs from Michael. I'd rather him explore his artistry and try things he's never done before. I don't want the same old.

what do you expect us to say? "no michael cannot make a dance song anymore"?
of course michael can make dance tunes. invincible had plenty. just none coz released as singles so none are hits and none got club play.

I have cleaned this up a bit. I realize all the negative threads are getting beyond boring but let us not degrade ourselves to pointing fingers. Thank you.

Really? He hasn't made a good dance song since "TWYMMF"?

Really?

lol.

Exactly--those are great dance tunes.

I liked some of the ones from Invincible too though. And some of the songs on his other albums before then--like BOTDF.

What is up with ya'll and these pessimistic threads?? For real. Boredom is a fan's worst enemy. -_-

^^^^ I'm getting really tired of this.

Simple answear: You Rock My World
Great dance tune :music:

I my estimation many of MJ's songs are great dance tunes...

Michael can and will

She's asking about songs he wrote himself, without other people co-writing.

the song dont mean a thing, it is michael's talent that puts the IT factor on whatever writer's song. we would not know or give a crap who wrote it if Michael had not touched it with his charm.

don't doubt the master of entertainment.

I dont think ya'l understand what the original poster is talking about.
He talking about fun happy-go lucky tracks, like DSTUGE.
Ya'l are talking about JAM but that song was a highly conscious and somewhat political song, SCREAM to.
Some say YOU ROCK MY WORLD which is fine but I think the poster meant a little more uptempo than that..

Yeah YRMW was mid tempo and not really a full on dance track.
Jam and Scream were too aggressive.

I think the original poster really means a track that is upbeat, with a positive, happy message. Something uplifiting that people will want to hear again and again.

Yes he can, and he did wrote YRMW en more songs like that. And Will.I.Am said the new album is going to be like Off The Wall for these days. So I think there are going to be a lot feel good songs on the new album were you can dance very good on.

I understood why they put those tracks on HIStory's first disc because there are many dance tracks. There are all the biggest dance tracks in 15 songs: Billie Jean, The Way You Make Me Feel, Black Or White, Bad, Thriller, Beat It, Remember The Time, Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough, Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'.. Like almost 2/3 is tracks I find dance tracks (many styles but danceable)..

ah invincible, i was just fantasizing what some of those videos could have looked like....anyway, of course Michael can still make a great dance song. I remember when people were blabbering about Michael not being able to sing in a smooth style anymore or hit those higher notes and then butterflies came out and slapped people in the face. the urban radio dj's were all over that song, especially the female dj's (drooling all over that falsetto).

I haven't posted on this board in forever, but it's obvious people are pretty antsy and anxious. Don't worry, enjoy the wait and when the album comes out, you'll appreciate it more ;D

Michael is human so he goes through the whole process changes as anyone.
We know that physical ability and his voice is excellent! I am confident that he can still sing and dance very well. And his style of music can also be innovative.
We shall be prepared for when he, in fact, can't or don't want to do more that. We must understand and support.
