I was watching a video of Michael as a kid on the "flirt" thread and as I was watching that video, there was one thing that "struck" me all of the sudden.....his eyes. I have always loved his eyes. Not only because they are huge and dark brown and absolutely BEAUTIFUL, but because they are so full of EXPRESSION. I love how they "sparkle". There is so much LIFE in his eyes.

I truly believe that eyes are "a mirror to a person's soul". I have always believed that. A person's eyes have always been something I watch carefully when they talk or when they do things, because I really think you can see the "real person" in the eyes. People often say many things, but you need to watch what their eyes say. People may lie, but the eyes always tell the truth. Just like you can fake a smile with your mouth, but a REAL smile only comes through the eyes. (Actually I once wrote a poem about that too...I don't have it anymore and I forgot what I wrote but it was something about smiles and how only a real smile comes from the heart and something about babies smiling and how their smile is the most real and precious because they haven't learned how to fake a smile yet. Something along those lines...) If the eyes aren't smiling, the person is faking it.

In my opinion Michael has VERY expressive eyes and I think in Michael's case you can read a LOT from his eyes. To me, anything you want to know is right there...in his eyes. He has the kind of eyes and "look" that can COMPLETELY mesmerize you. COMPLETELY. Once he stares at your way it's like you CAN NOT look away..or even move. You just have to keep staring back. At least that's how I always feel.:stretcher It's like "I know I shouldn't stare and I don't wanna be rude or make him feel uncomfortable....BUT I CAN'T MOVE...I CAN'T LOOK AWAY...." And when ever I see him on stage or WHERE EVER...even though he has a cute butt and a gorgeous body and all...I can't help but to stare at his EYES! I can't get my eyes off of his EYES!!!

Anyways, I just thought it would be interesting to discuss if anyone else feels the same or has noticed the same about his eyes? You know, to me it feels like Michael wouldn't even have to say a word and I'd know what he's thinking about or what he wants to say, just by the look of his eyes (okay...I don't know him and have never met him, so I can't know for sure of course! I'd have to meet him and get to know him to know if that's really true... but it's my "gut feeling". Does that sound "strange" or "freaky"? I hope not because I don't mean it in some "freaky alien kind of way"! But you know how often all you have to do is to look at your friend or someone you know and you instantly know what the other one is thinking without them not having said a word...that's how I mean it)...their that expressive. That's also why I hate it when he is wearing sunglasses....because I can't see his EYES. I liked the mask more because it left his eyes uncovered and even though you couldn't see the rest of his face, you could see, for example, if he was smiling or not through the eyes. :)

Who else loves his eyes? Is there anything else you have noticed about Michael and his eyes?

Watch this video of MJ performing Human Nature in Brisbane during the Bad Tour. Check out that STARE at around 3:36 to 3:43....:stretcher I am instantly grinning and having "butterflies" and chills down my spine (the good kind of chills!) when ever I watch that part. AH! :stretcher:

I dunno how much i can add summer!

His eyes are gorgeous. That's the first thing that attracted me to MJ i think. While watching the Dangerous concert...I remember thinking, man this guy is soooo expressive! And it was not just his dancing, it was the passion in his eyes.

His eyes really does tell all. :p

I whole heartedly agree with u both! His eyes really are mesmerizing! They capture his innocence, his honesty, his passion, and his sincerity! His eyes really are the window to his soul! And when he performs, he captures every emotion in his expressions and eyes. That's what makes him the best entertainer in the world. His eyes and expressions are what give his performances an edge, that many other artists lack. It's one thing to sing and dance, but it's a whole other thing to bring feelings and emotions to the performance.

pssssttt...(join the chat)

absolutely... want to know about a man look into their eyes.....

a poem "Two Birds" says all
Michael's eyes= Michael's soul

"See that girl...she knows I'm watching...she likes the way I STARE"......

Such an incredible thread. I agree with everything above.

And they resemble the eyes of either a young fawn, calf, puppy or a baby seal..As they seem to be always wet, warm, sincere and gentle, yet also passionate, piercing, charged with fire and determination, extremely profound, just sucking the viewer or interlocutor into them in a whirling effect. He also appears to have very trusting eyes, and the fact that are that significantly distanced one from the other also confirm that. They are also spacious, immense and full, like he can almost cover the whole world in a stare with them, and they are sensitive, and also melancholy, sad and even wounded at times. But when he smiles, they appear to be the most excited, joyful, sparkling eyes ever, like two effervescent wells with the sun or the moon reflected in them. He is awfully starry-eyed, too, like he somehow rinses his eyes with scanning the sky and the jewels of the sky in the still dark. You can also really see they are brimful of love, goodness and hope. And so wistful as well, destined to dream.

I, once, found on a site dedicated to face reading this very interesting tidbit featuring a brief, yet professional analysis of his eyes:

"The late Princess Diana and Michael Jackson share a feature of the eyes. They possess floating irises also known as sampaku. The whites are visible under the iris. This indicates an inner turbulence - a person at odds with the world. Though spiritual in nature, they are hard to please or understand and have very high expectations of others. Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln also shared these traits."

A very comprehensive and accurate reading, too. And I noticed a similar feature in the eyes of East Indians.

He's just magical and his soul is perfectly reflected in them. That is one reason for which he conceals them behind his glasses; during the Bad era, he was quoted as saying he doesn't like to reveal his soul like that to the people, so he covers his eyes, he must be aware of their incredible expressiveness. In my opinion, he truly posesses the most complex eyes, disclosing the soul of a child, the mind of an old, wise man, the strength of a warrior, the vulnerability of an innocent animal and many affectionate traits a very sensitive woman can have.

i love his eyes too!and i'm glad that now they spark again:)a couple of years ago they looked lost...a new beginning!

Ohh yes! Michael's eyes are my favourite physical feature of his. They are stunning!! When he smiles...OMG! and when he's upset and you look in his eyes...it's soooo heartbreaking!

You can tell how he's feeling by looking at his eyes, that's why it upsets me sometimes when he wears sunglasses for a long period of time. Like now, such a long time since we've seen his eyes!

LOL I saved it too. Well-said! Lovely really. Thanks for that :).

You are so right about his eyes. I've had an opportunity to look into his eyes up close.

What I saw in his eyes is the very reason why I strongly defend him today against the lies that were started about him in '93. When I first heard the lie that came out in '93 and thought back to the day that I looked into his eyes, I said to myself, "The people in that no good family are lying their asses off. I've looked into Michael eyes and I know he doesn't have it in him to do all that stuff those liars said."

When you look into Michael Jackson's eyes up close, you can tell he is meek.

I saved what you said too, Alma. That was really beautiful :)

I love his eyes! I can completely lose myself in them, even just looking at a picture. I really don't think I can add much more to this, especially after Alma's post, but I can always throw in a few "ggaaaahhh! I love his eyes! OMG! they are so amazing!!!" :dropdead: :bounce: :girl_flirt:    like Summer suggested lol!

I have also found more adjectives that describe his eyes, such as: serious (and sometimes, even dead-serious), distracted, focused, too, pensive, highly observant and intuitive, humble, playful, sensual, excitable, surprised, quiet (synesthetically speaking), musical, romantic, conforting, homely, lonesome, sometimes sleepy, highly aware, timid (especially when looking down or in other direction), even coy, sometimes, goal-oriented and unique. Not to mention his stare is a very personable one, and when he looks at something or at someone, even at the camera, they stand out in a crowd and seem very prying, that one can't ignore them. And they are almond-shaped, but a bit slanting down, revealing his bland nature, and his beautifully arched eyelashes compliment them perfectly. And, again, because they are so large, they seem very much like the eyes of a very trusting child. They are very becoming and memorable. And, also, I have noticed that he can have a fixed and patient stare, as well as a movable, dancing or impatient one, when he is happy, like his eyes would jump up and down or frolic.

And again, very loving.

I have to post your whole first post because I could have written it by myself. What a thread! Why didn't I start it... I can't except only one sentence or some words of yours because I feel absolutely the same way. I have been a MJ fan for 19 years or so and I've always loved his eyes from the very first time I've seen them. They are beautiful, mesmerising, full of expressions, sadness... Have you experienced it too? When he smiles still I can see sadness in his eyes. Always.

I just can't get my eyes off of his eyes  Really...

I think it's also, sometimes, melancholy, meekness and wistfulness there, creating a lingering stare. But yes, I also see that sometimes.

It's so crazy how a picture of him looking can make you stare because you can just feel his presence it's like he jumps off the picture...they just speak to you...

Great and relevant pictures, thank you..

Among many others, I'm sure, I'm thinking about these videos being some of the most expressive ones, because his eyes really stand out like flashlights:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=RpMm3NeL2Yk

http://youtube.com/watch?v=aSqo17o2a1w&feature=related

http://youtube.com/watch?v=DJJ-ottwgvk

http://youtube.com/watch?v=i-8APwYdGaA, and also the Top of the Pops one.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Mo0G4UJngLc

http://youtube.com/watch?v=EZnrxk-dpVA&feature=related

http://youtube.com/watch?v=IjmalHcQh54

There is also the Japanese interview, where he can't stop laughing, but that I can't find.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=7AhYqSMH06g&feature=related

But there are much more, really, not to mention captures from many photos, videos, other interviews, candids or performances. I tried to pick videos where his eyes are open wide, looking directly into the camera or at specific people mostly, or where they're lingering.

He has these huge, floating irises, that are also very distanced from the corners of the eye (especially those beside the nasal bone), that the whites can be clearly seen, like the ones below the iris, especially when he looks left or right and above, but also directly at the camera / the interlocutor.

OMG!! Beautiful words! If Michael would read them... I cannot express myself so good even in my mother language.

Yeah, great descriptions Alma, there's really not much to add to what you said. I always saw in Michael's eyes both very real sadness and pain but at the same time, extraordinary hope and optomisum.

Thank you...

And they really are books without words. I think if a person would just stand in front of him to look at him, by mere non-verbal communication, they would get along just fine in that apparent silence.
