Yes, that is how I see it as well. MJ's first since the trial and he is saying, now let is put all the bs behind us and come to gether in peace and harmony cause time is too short and only by coming together and helping each other can we truly find peace and understanding. It is not a love song. it is a peace song. MJ is speaking to the world. It is an anthem.:D

The song means whatever people want it to mean. Like Friend said earlier in her post, it's open to interpretation. It can have several meanings as people need their hands held for a variety of wonderful friendly and/or loving reasons. I agree it makes a nice anthem, too. :D

I have to say, after going throug several blogs and boards...I got all teary eyes when I read the comments; stuff like:

That is very true wendy. But I am receiving it in the spirit that I am feeling it delivered, with the organ to start with, the gospel and soul feel, the spirtual vibe, and from Akon's interview in which he said that it would be an anthem, I believe that that may be the primary intention of the singers. But as with every song it may be interpreted in many different ways as one feels it applies to them.

Just like I said before it sounds like it's made for Obama's and Clintons campaign.

But it can be also made for the Olympics! Think about that!

Or then it's Michael's proposal for a woman, that would be nice.. :)

Or then it means a clock hand, so Michael wants to freeze the time! You know in the beginning he says no one lives forever, but if you stop the time, no one gets older anymore.. So "hooold myyyy haand"! :lol:

Or then Michael wants someone to hold his poker cards when he has to go to the bathroom.

Nearing the end, when Michael is all over the song with his ad-libs, his voice is so intense and full of pashion. I swear to God, I'm just.... I don't even know what to say. This song is emotional. And the more you listen to the opening verse and realize just how well Michael emulates Akon, it's actually scary, lol.

Yes, this song is very emotional. That is why, for me it is so spiritual cause I visualise MJ offering the hand of peace and of friendship. It means that much to me. A tearjerking song. it could be very explosive.
