Michael Jackson leases pricey Bel Air estate

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The King of Pop is back — in town, that is.
Michael Jackson has signed a yearlong lease on a mansion in the swanky Bel Air area of the city, a spokesman for the singer said Wednesday.
Jackson has been staying in the estate for about a month, said spokesman Tohme Tohme, who called the property "a little bit more than an average home."
The lease agreement is for $100,000 a month. The home has seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and 12 fireplaces.
Jackson, 50, relocated to the city with his three children to be closer to Hollywood and the entertainment industry, said Tohme, promising that "the second half (of his career) will be better than the first." :wild:
Now THIS is some news I love to hear. What a nice quote and bit of news to read. Thank you for posting Dorothy

Re: Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Um I thought his name was Dr. Tohme. I thought the "Tohme Tohme" was an error. That would be funny if it was a misprint and now all the media sources are calling this person Tohme Tohme.
that's my opinion too, it was my first idea when I read this ridiculous double name. But of course the Media put it forward because of the reason that it sounds ridicilous.

Seen seen, thats cool news

You inviting me round for tea and cake then Michael?? ill bring some goodies and you supply the drinks :D
we can have a little garden party

I can't help but to be skeptical:timer:. I believe this Thome Thome person is probally Michael himself.

I like the way Dr. Tohme handles himself. Big Ups!

And I also have to laugh at the media (once again-LOL). I mean, when the pictures of MJ's new home came out, the media reported on "MJ's new home." Now Dr. Tohme has confirmed that story and they are reporting the same thing all over again.

OBSESSION is what I call it!

Re: Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Too true. R&B is one of the worst genre's in music today. It's been that way for years now. There's no melody worst of all and like the writer very diligently pointed out, it's practically impossible to decern the difference between one song and the next. It is sad when the best they have to offer is Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Usher, etc... The whole scene sucks.

im sorry, i guess we should make a cloning machine and clone mj....oh that's right, didn't we? it's seriously getting old, tigerlilly, when the same thing is being said. we know u don't like them. we know their lines aren't great and they can't do this or that and we know they're not mike so isn't it a bit redundant at this point?

as for the house.........hell yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiz tp is gonna rawk out. and im glad it's gated cuz the last time homie lived in bh the fans didn't make it peaceful for him and he had to leave the mansion he rented in 04.:mello:

Re: Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Thats Awesome and very positive to hear from MJ _reminds me of ..
"You aint seen nothing yet " :wild:

Yeah, and how many years ago did he say that??
I believed him at the time but not any more.
There is no way the second half will be better than the first, that’s impossible. The most he can hope for is to achieve comparable sales to Madonna’s latest effort, and to regain some credibility but while he’s still walking around in stupid costumes that seems unlikely to happen. At this point it looks as though we’ve already seen the beginning, middle, and end of his career as he continues to squander his amazing talents for years on end.
P.s if he wanted to move closer to the entertainment industry shouldn’t he have done that years ago when he supposedly started making his comeback album??

I think for a long time, we have been speculating the 'year' Michael will return to the music scene. I think that this is moot. We have to look at the bigger picture. Michael isn't looking for a one album thing, more likely he is looking to try and better his previous efforts! I think we have many more years to to come with Mike.

Well to be fair when Mike said ''You ain't seen nothing yet'' he said it around the time Invincible was released and i'm sure at that time he was planning on doing some big things like lots of short films and performances but during that time things got in his way. During the Invincible era that whole issue with Sony came about so that kinda stopped MJ from doing the things he wanted to do musically and then not long after the Sony incident was over the whole trial crap kicked in.

So at that time i'm sure that MJ was planning on doing big things but things just got in his way (The sony incident and the trial)

But this time around there's nothing (That i know of anyway) to stand in his way, so things are looking up

I'm just gonna take that statemnt for what it is -_-

...

And say WOOHAA! :jump: Hope the new area works out, and looking forward to the future babe.

Well I guess Michael's son is now the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"

Also, don't forget that 9/11 happened the morning after his last show at MSG in New York and I'm sure that could have destroyed plans for a big tour in '02 ! Many artists cancelled tours because of that event.

I do love Tohme's optimism, if he is right about the second half being bigger than the first, then that would be HISTORY !!!

I AM VERY HAPPY TO HEAR THIS GREAT NEWS!!! :D

THANK YOU!!!

considering what ppl think of him and how hugely album sales have dropped(not talkin him...overall)etc i really dont think he has a chance of it being bigger. more cds sold in the 80s then they do now. MUCH more. why go to a store when you can buy it off the internet or(sadly)for free off limewire? plus hes 50...

but meh who knows...*shrugs

how about you keep your negative opinions to yourself for a week or so... it's getting tired.

I didn't even mention Michael in my post, did I? Why keep brining him up as though he's the only artist I'm basing my judgements on? I'm not the one who constantly drops his name to make a point. I was just commenting on the state of the music industry and agreeing with an article posted. Now come on Katie, it gets just as tired having people critisize me for stating my opinion. There's no rule against it on this board, so maybe you should direct your energies towards chastising people who are actually violating board rules. All I said was that the industry is weak right now, with the best acts offered being average at best, that R&B especially lacks melody and that it's hard to tell the difference between one song and the next, and the author is also right about how grating it is hearing people add nine millions notes to one syllable. It's like a cover up so that you don't notice that their voice has bad quality.
