The ‘YAY I JUST HEARD MICHAEL ON THE RADIO’ Thread

We've probably all heard Michael lately everywhere but this was a funny thing that happened to me (I thought). I put my ipod on which has hundreds of songs on it and probably about 20 Michael ones. The last time I listened to it, I was sure that I hadn't heard any MJ songs. This time, the first song to come on was in the middle of "Do you remember the time" and it is on shuffle, so usually you don't get two in a row from the same band/singer. The next song was another Michael one, and the next was another.. So I just took the shuffle off, though I know it works, and listened to Michael all morning :D It was really a treat. Plus on the iPod all the songs sounded different because you hear every single sound. So many layers. It was so rich. Like discovering the music anew.

XM is playing Break of Dawn on the Heart & Soul - Adult R&B Hits channel. First time I've ever heard an Invincible track on the radio!

Unfortunately its very rare to hear MJ on the radio here, I have only heard Billie Jean once. Its one of the reasons I got a ipod (which is filled with MJ!).

I never hear MJ on the radio here in Norway.. Maybe one time a month, billy jean or thriller.

Last weekend the oldies radio station here played The Way You Make Me Feel. That's considered an oldie???

I work the graveyard shift (10pm to 6am) and I always listen to this radio staion that plays nothing but classic pop, so every night I'll hear one or two MJ songs, last night it was "Off the Wall" and "Beat It". When I get off work I flip around the dial trying to find something that's playing music instead of some boring morning show, and to my absolute shock the local Top 40 station out of Omaha was playing Thriller! When the song ended the djs were talking about how happy they were to hear that MJ is coming back.

LMAO

I was just flicking through the stations about half an hour ago and 3 of the presenters on Radio 1 were discussing the "I just can't stop lovng you" and they were talking about how it's a good song to play when you walk down the aisle, but then they put on the studio version (when Mike sounds like a bad boy, all romantic ) and they had to imagine themselves walking down the aisle with their Dad, whilst Michael's saying his dialouge in that song; "I just want to touch you.. etc" and they were pissing their pants with laughter! (Because it's a bit of an awkwards song to play when you're with your Dad on your wedding day, according to them lol).

It was still, no doubt, lovely to hear him on the radio though :D

I heard The Way You Make Me Feel when I was in Von's today (grocery store chain). And a few weeks back I was somewhere and an instrumental version of Ben (aw) came on. It is rare for me to hear MJ songs when I am out and about. Maybe that will be changing now...MJ is in the air. Haha. :)

i heard "cant let her get away" today i was SHOCKED lmao. i love hearing non mj singles on radio

I am watching the Aussie F1 GP and when they where going to a ad break they played Smooth Criminal too bad it was the ant farm version.

Billie Jean was played on MTV today.
+ heard Dirty Diana on the radio today also.

pretty much made my day! Lol

Today I heard "Never Can Say Goodbye" in my animation class. A former student had used it in their final project. It was an amusing piece (because the animation was really random, lol) - made me smile :).

Oh, and last weekend I went to this:

It was seriously one of my best nights out ever. I took a couple of friends with me and everyone had a great time. I usually hate going to clubs & places when they play super underground music that nobody knows or the overplayed top 40. But this night was just tops. The place was packed cuz of no cover and the fact that everybody knew the music. Absolutely everyone in there was enjoying themselves. So much "Off The Wall" and The Jacksons-era goodness was played. I can't even express how insanely good it felt hearing 'Blame It On The Boogie', 'Shake Your Body Down...', 'Dancing Machine', etc. in a club. Just so many songs that I'm not used to hearing outside of my CDs/computer. And oh man - when 'Get on the Floor' came on I was like "HOLDUP! THIS IS MAH JAM!!!" to my friends and promptly moved from the bar to the dancefloor . I walked in to hear a remix of 'Remember the Time' and walked out at closing after requesting 'Billie Jean' (hadn't heard it all night - thought it was appropriate to end on ;) haha). Now I always love me some MJ & Stevie, but Prince is cool too =). But I'll tell ya - the DJ (who put up old school pictures of Stevie, Prince, & MJ around his table) would sometimes call out "How many of you are here for/like Prince? Stevie Wonder? How bout Michael Jackson?" or something like that. My roommate (not a MJ fan) said that the screams were always loudest for MJ :D. It's true - each time MJ came on the crowd just went nuts. You even heard people go "hoo!" and try to pull some MJ moves LOL. In honor of the night I wore my Urban Outfitters MJ shirt and my silver sequined sneakers .

Seriously, it was really awesome. Great vibes . My roommate and I even came back and watched some MJ videos before going to bed (I was really high on the MJ love that night ) . I strongly encourage anyone who knows of nights like this at their local clubs to go. You're bound to have a good time!

i was able to listen to him twice yesterday :)
it was 1990-2000 day on the radio and they played earth song and history.
maybe they even played another song, i didnt listen to the radio the whole day.

I hear almost every weekend say say say song with MJ and Paul
then billie jean, remember the time, really a lot MJ'songs lately I can hear on radio
even tough I don't listen up so much radio

Mike was #1 on C4's Best Dance Moves, showing his Smooth Criminal video. I literally screamed my head off! LOL.

I've heard so much Michael and the Jacksons on the radio lately that it's really fantastic.:D Even on the evening news, sort of, it was about a dancer who likes to mix opera and rock to his dance and he they told that he likes to dance to Michael Jackson's music and they played songs from the bad album on the background and showed how the guy danced to a MJ song, I forgot which song it was.
I've herad: Earth song, YANA, Leave me alone, Dirty Diana, Smooth criminal, Liberian girl, (from the jacksons): can you feel it, show me the way to go (yesterday at Ikea ;D ). All this is being played in shops and on the radio stations here in Finland. And I'm sure I've forgotten some songs..

It's ON people!:punk:

Well, I don't get out much. But I did walk to the store earlier today and inside I heard "I Want You Back" come on...and it was directly followed by Two Hearts, by Stacy Q. So yeah, there ya go. It was such an enjoyable eight or so minutes for me in the neighborhood Henry's Grocery store, let me tell ya.

On Friday I heard Earth Song on Radio 1. For those in the UK you'll know that that's so not like Radio 1. I was at work so couldn't really hear the talking around it. They were probably taking the piss or something but that brightened my working day up lol. I had to go and stand by the radio to hear it for a second because I thought I was going crazy.

Yeah it's really uncommon for Radio 1 to play a.) anything that's not currently in the charts and b.) Michael Jackson. In fact i don't think i've heard them playing MJ since YRMW came out! Not any time that it registered with me anyway.

I  Earth song!

I was at the casino with my girlfriend yesterday for dinner before prom. As we left, I heard The Way You Make Me Feel playing over the speakers.

At the prom, we requested Michael Jackson songs and he played Thriller. Bigger reaction than any song that night to be honest. Pretty epic.

I watched Back To The Future II last night, & Beat It played in the background in one of the scenes. Fully put a smile on my face :)
