Today I heard "Never Can Say Goodbye" in my animation class. A former student had used it in their final project. It was an amusing piece (because the animation was really random, lol) - made me smile
.
Oh, and last weekend I went to this:
It was seriously one of my
best nights out
ever. I took a couple of friends with me and everyone had a great time. I usually hate going to clubs & places when they play super underground music that nobody knows or the overplayed top 40. But this night was just
tops. The place was packed cuz of no cover and the fact that everybody knew the music. Absolutely everyone in there was enjoying themselves. So much "Off The Wall" and The Jacksons-era goodness was played. I can't even express how insanely good it felt hearing 'Blame It On The Boogie', 'Shake Your Body Down...', 'Dancing Machine', etc. in a club. Just so many songs that I'm not used to hearing outside of my CDs/computer. And oh man - when 'Get on the Floor' came on I was like "
HOLDUP! THIS IS MAH JAM!!!" to my friends and promptly moved from the bar to the dancefloor . I walked in to hear a remix of 'Remember the Time' and walked out at closing after requesting 'Billie Jean' (hadn't heard it all night - thought it was appropriate to end on
haha). Now I always love me some MJ & Stevie, but Prince is cool too =). But I'll tell ya - the DJ (who put up old school pictures of Stevie, Prince, & MJ around his table) would sometimes call out "How many of you are here for/like Prince? Stevie Wonder? How bout Michael Jackson?" or something like that. My roommate (not a MJ fan) said that the screams were always loudest for MJ
. It's true - each time MJ came on the crowd just went
nuts. You even heard people go "hoo!" and try to pull some MJ moves LOL. In honor of the night I wore my Urban Outfitters MJ shirt and my silver sequined sneakers
.
Seriously, it was really awesome. Great vibes . My roommate and I even came back and watched some MJ videos before going to bed (I was really high on the MJ love that night :wub
. I strongly encourage anyone who knows of nights like this at their local clubs to go. You're bound to have a good time!
