Well..."around a million" people will be watching him in the O2 shows and there are so many who couldn't get tickets or couldn't go and stuff. So that proves the number is much higher then "around a million". Perhaps that's more like Obama supporters but Michael fans are much more global and larger in number.

I'd say all of those who took time and bothered to register for the presale tickets (1 million) is what we can call fans, that is of course the MINIMUM.
On the other hand, if he announced today on TV a new CD would be released he could easily sell 10 million albums.

I don't think there are any countries out there where he doesn't have fans. And like another person said, there are a million fans going to O2 and that's just the people that either live in london or can afford the flight/ticket/hotel fees. There are a lot of us (including myself) that are missing out because it's too expensive.
