STOP IT RIGHT NOW! What is the matter with some of you? Even with undeniable proof about what was in MJ's system at the time of his death, all it takes is 45 minutes of Lisa talking and suddenly you beileve he was an addict who was going to die no matter what??? Not on this board is anyone going to come in here with that garbage. Take it to another board where they don't care about what the evidence really says. Take it someplace where that will fly, because it won't fly here.

I warned you guys about that kind of talk. I even PMed some of you personally and asked you to stop it. I will hand out infractions for any who go against this. It is unbelievable that we have to defend MJ against this stupidity on his own board. I asked several times, Stacey came in here and warned you guys. But to no avail. We are continually being ignored.

It is getting nasty in here. This thread needs a break. It is closed for cleaning.

Edit: I am going to reopen this thread. I will gather my thoughts and make a big long post I hope all of you read. Any breaking the rules will receive infractions. It is the only way to keep things in order. I will be back to post my thoughts. Thank you!

GINVIV, thank you so much for closing the thread when you did. To maintain my self-control, I would look at the name of a poster to determine whether I should skip a post. I think you did the right thing. Thanks for defending Michael.

EXACTLY!
Why was it so hard to say what T-Mez said? "Michael could never harm a child. He felt a moral obligation to save the world, specially the children."

I don't know about you people but last night I cried myself to sleep. All the pain resurfaced like it was yesterday.

Me, too, dear. I didn't cry, but I definitely felt the sting all over again that I haven't felt in a very long time. I barely slept last night and my heart is still hurting today. We are all still in healing-mode... and someone f*cking twisted the knife back in . Please, God... not again. LMP Just move the fuck on and STFU for the sake of Michael's fans!! Selfish, conniving %(&$@!!!

As fans we all know MJ had drug problems in 1993. He taped a video and had it air around the world and he openly spoke of the need to go to rehab to conquer this battle he was having. So this is undisputable. It is bound to happen that people will talk about his drug problems at this time, because Lisa directly speaks about them in her interview. However, Lisa was not aware of what went on in MJ's life, at the end of his life from first hand knowledge. She was not even sure of drug use in 1995. She said in the interview that she "supected" it. This means she was not even 100% sure herself. Because of us already having a knowledge of MJ's drug problems in 1993, there is no need to discuss this further. Do not take what Lisa said about the time there were together as some reason to go off about MJ in 2009. All talks of MJ as an addict at this time will not be tolerated. It does not matter what Lisa said, what Janet said, what anyone says, especially those not around him (this includes members of his family) when we have an autopsy report that shows conclusively that MJ was not an addict. And, when we have a person to say, "Nay" for every person who says, "Yay. we don't have a lot to go on now. Things may be clearer in the future. But for now, this is the stance. Please respect that. And no, this is not open for discussion. It has been discussed and decided. As I said, please respect this.

This is a place where people of all opinions can come and discuss things like adults. You may not agree. So what! That does not give you the right to talk about, belittle, or deride anyone who feels differently than you do. If you cannot behave yourself like an adult in this thread, than this is not the thread for you. Please find another. There should be no reason why a person feels they cannot tell their opinion with out the fear of being ridiculed.

This is an MJ board. First and foremost. Don't come in here thinking you are going to spit on MJ to make Lisa look better. Go find a message board of hers for that. It won't happen here. It does not mean you can not stan for Lisa. But, you will not do so at MJ's expense. Nor will you do so at the expense of your fellow fans. Just because a fan does not agree with what Lisa has said does not mean that they are a hater. it does not mean they think MJ is perfect and above all fault. It means they don't agree with Lisa. Be an adult and have a conversation and maybe try to find out why they feel the way they do before you jump down their throats. In addition, do not assume that just because a fan agrees with Lisa that they have abandoned MJ and no longer care about him. Be an adult and have a conversation and maybe try to find out why they feel the way they do before you jump down their throats. You might be surprised and learn something you didn't know before.

Please stay on topic. This is about Lisa's interview and the issues it brings up. Now that the interview has been released, of course the discussion will be about said interview. If you have not seen this interview, that is your prerogative. But don't spam the thread with opinions about something you have not bothered to see for yourself. Spreading hate just because. What is the sense in that? What are you trying to prove? How can you speak intelligently about something you haven't seen? Please don't do this.

We try not to censor too much here. We really do try. And, we try not to arbitrarily delete members posts. But we cannot let the board get out of control. If we do, We only end up with hurt feelings on both sides and nothing is accomplished.

Please respect Michael and please respect one another. This is all we ask at this community. If a poster goes out of control, please don't respond. Please report the post.
Please read, and please don't just cast this aside.

Thank you all.

Brava, ginvid!! Thank you. :clapping:

Also, what I do is if I don't agree on a post, I just hurry up and scroll to the next one so I won't decide to turn around and knock someone's teeth out, lol. Try it sometime. Works like a charm! :flowers:

There really was no need to close the thread, it was good honest discussion about LMP and the interview she gave.

Nobody attacked Michael at all, some just chose to defend LMP (myself included) because they felt that some posters here were being irrational and overly critical. We're all MJ fans, so please don't treat those of us who took a neutral standpoint or can see a good side in LMP as trouble makers.

Actually there was disrespecting to MJ. He had his problems but I wouldn't go as far as saying he was a drug addict. Some posters crossed the line.

Oh and i'm not going into another argument i'll just stop right here :p

That's a good one, but once you read from the poster twice, you remember the name and you can quickly scroll down.

I'm a little disappointed with the poll results. Why are people so cruel and judgemental? I guess that's life for you.

Lisa admitted her faults and took responsiblity for her actions. What more do people want from her? I mean seriously??? She can't change the past. Why isn't everyone more interested in her telling the world how much she loved him and what an incredible person he was? Many of you are doing to her what people did for Mike for years which is tearing her down. What do you think he'd think of that?

It's in the past. Where's the LOVE? MJ wouldn't be happy with his fans treating someone he loved like this.

Could she have done things differently? Sure. But so could Mike. She's human. He's human. When did everyone else become so fking perfect??

For me, the most important thing in the interview was when Lisa said that Michael had WARNED HER that people were trying to kill him to gain control of his catalog and estate. I think this is huge that this was seen by the whole Oprah audience, yet I still don't hear outcry from the general world.

Because that's obvious even to the biggest haters I guess :p

I am wondering why you are disappointed. The poll asked whether people's views had changed after looking at the interview. I read all the threads and it seems as I said before there are 2 major distinct camps. One group is interested in the love relationship between Lisa and MJ and felt she was not completely truthful about the relationship in the past. She opened up more and said things they felt were accurate, so that group's views about Lisa changed. Lisa is now seen as the "Widow Jackson" and "His Only True Love"

The second group is interested in Lisa opening more about Michael's innocence since she was married to him, speaking on crucial matters more "factually", and steering away from unclear narratives that can be detrimental to the pending court cases. She fell short, therefore the group's view of Lisa remained the same.

The poll did not ask people about whether they would do the same as Lisa, to give her a break, if she was honest, whether she did what another human would do, if she made a mistake, if she showed the world Michael was normal/human/needed to be loved, etc.

I think the confusion is in misinterpreting what the poll asks, and many of the "strange" comments in this thread are due to people not understanding that the point of view of these 2 major groups are different.

One thing I found out, and is only my opinion, is that many people see life very romantically. I hope I have not offended you.

Why Oprah Will Be Missed

A recent episode of Oprah with Lisa Marie Presley is the reason that Oprah Winfrey is going to be missed when her show goes off the air. No one else could have gotten those insights from the daughter of an icon who married another icon. From the 20th century into the 21st century , Lisa Marie Presley has the insight of fame that no one else could fathom. A talented performer herself, Lisa Marie could never imagine growing up that her life would have such a connection with what can cause artists to lose themselves in drugs, sycophants and doctors more interested in "socializing and being intimate" with their patients than treating them.

The interview with Lisa Marie Presley show was one of the best interviews ever broadcast on air. A look into celebrity and fame that could be the insight of years to come of the two biggest icons of the 20th century. Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson became so real to generations of people who watched Lisa Marie open herself up to love, life and setting the record straight for generations to come on her marriage to Michael Jackson.

Oprah Winfrey was as good as any interviewer to illuminate the subject she was speaking with. There was no agenda. There was nothing to try and manipulate. It was truth. And as we know, nothing is more powerful that seeing it. We have been so warped with "reality" television that when we truly witness it which happened, the importance of it could be lost.

Oprah, you will be missed. Not for all the gifts that you have given, but for the gift of the truth that you have illuminated on your shows. You will be missed for your connection with the soul of humanity.

Lisa Marie Presley was understood. Her father, Elvis Presley and her ex-husband, Michael Jackson, were laid to rest with understanding and empathy.

Celebrity was made human today. And Oprah Winfrey, one of the biggest celebrities of our generation, brought it out.

Here's what TMZor Entertainment Tonight would never get: Oprah Winfrey showed once again why she is the most trusted reporter in news today. She is a reporter. Like Walter Cronkite in his day, we look to her to give us the real story.
And she did. This is the show that should get the Emmy for what true reporting is. It's all about truth and the story.

Lisa Marie Presley and Oprah Winfrey. Perfection does not exist, because people are not perfect. However, sometimes a moment caught on television shows us a humanity that we all share. Michael Jackson was understood more tonight in a human level than in any performance he ever gave us. That is the gift of Oprah.

Some of you people need to take off your rose color glasses and deal with reality.
The handful of you here thinking the interview was just peachy need to google Michael Jackson news and see what damage LMP's done to Michael 's name and reputation AGAIN!

Half the headlines are about drug abuse and he couldn't be saved. Destined to an early death. Blah blah blah.

And the comments are very hurtful.

I'm feel like I'm in an episode of the Twilight Zone.

If MJ where alive today would she even feel guilty for talking bad about him the way she did in the past? No! It was the death that did it, she said so!

I don't hate Lisa But, I'm not fan either!

He reached out to her before the trial even started and she was "indifferent" even when he told her she was right after all that something like this would happen! I guess for her it was to little to late for him to realize that since she couldn't get back with him! And when the trial did happen she goes to Oprah during the deliberation (that determined his fate) and crapped on his name!

Well, call me crazy if u want but, I can't forgive her for this! So I voted NO! Because she was being selfish!

Not to mention she did a terrible job at defending the allegations against him! I thought she understood him better now? So I would have hope her answer to be I knew him and was around him to know he wouldn't do something like that!

The fact that she is still in love with him (it was so obvious) one would expect that kind of answer! But, NO is wasn't! She gave herself room to not be judged by others so she said it's between who was in the room and BLAH BLAH BLAH! Not good!

Also the guessing games on him on drugs and she can't say for sure! When there is proof that he was not on drugs in 95 by his own doctor with proof, is just like what in the world was she thinking? Again not good! MJ admitted to his past pain medication problem but, for her to guess other times like the Bashir interview without proof was responsible and dangerous! SMH

The good parts that I do appreciate is that she admitted they where still together after the divorce for a good while and admitted her faults too but, for me is to little to late! Simply because MJ never would have did anything to her like this! He wasn't perfect, neither was she, U or I! But, at least he didn't air his dirty laundry for the would to hear! And for that he gets my respect not her!

So, that's how I feel about that interview! My opinion and u can agree to disagree! But, it's still my opinion and it won't changed!

Thanks and goodbye! :)

That's how I feel! I hope she moves on!

You know....even if only a single word about drugs was uttered, and the rest of the interview focused on the positive...the media would STILL blow the tiny drug comment out of proportion...In the eyes of the media, it doesn't matter who says what or how it's said....

Oprah knew the picture she wanted to paint and she did exactly that, just look at the headlines today.

As for this interview, its done now, don't really feel like saying anymore about it. Katherine's up next and hopefully we will get to see a mother speak of the son she gave birth to and raised, to be one of the most incredible human beings ever!

Really?

This person did not just state that!?!? LOL

:bugeyed ^I disagree completely! Oprah was not about truth! How can she be when she believes MJ was likely guilty without research! She never invited people like T-Mez on her show to be interviewed nor anyone else that could give real facts and evidence!

If the person who wrote this article needed Oprah and Lisa to understand Michael Jackson, then I truly feel sorry for this person! Just another lazy person who likes to be spoon fed stories instead of looking up the evidence themselves! That interview was ruled by was he on drugs on Oprah part and Lisa's guessing games!-_-

I expected the media would respond as you state, but it still hurts when you confirm it. The only comfort I can take is that I do not read newspapers or look at certain types of news and that some fans saw the damage the interview did.

'Michael Jackson was understood more tonight in a human level than in any performance he ever gave us.'

i don't know what lisa did for her father but PARIS JACKSON DID THAT FOR HER DAD WHEN SHE SPOKE ABOUT HIM .I don't think any one can ever do that ,what Paris did at age of 12 is incredible

I think some of us haven't seen the same interview? Incredibly? There is a criminal trial coming up, and LMP handed Murray his defense on a silver-platter. If you don't believe this, look at the headlines now? Murray's only defense, really, is to attack Michael's character. I'm sure his attorneys are celebrating, right about now. All LMP really needed to do was remain utterly silent, until after the trial. Thanks a LOT. Romantic tidbits don't MATTER, in comparison to the damage this interview did.

Michael Jackson was NOT a "drug addict," but for the Oprah-viewing public, that's all they will know, now (and that includes the jury-pool). They don't have the background that the fans have, or SHOULD have. I am just SO sorry, that this happened, and especially, now. . .

Yes. BUT before June 25 we already knew all these things.

:wtf:

Honestly? Very, very, very forced and exaggerated this text. -_-

But, at least he didn't air his dirty laundry for the would to hear!
Believe me, we would never know the version of Michael. Why he would never go to a TV show or wherever, to talk about his privacy, his marriage to Lisa, who was right or wrong, other women, other possible relationships and bla bla bla. Michael has always been a man very, very, very private and I'm 1000% sure he would never do that. Even that does not concern us... fans, only Michael and no one else, for that is his privacy. This should not be vomited (never) to the world.

I expected the media would respond as you state, but it still hurts when you confirm it. The only comfort I can take is that I do not read newspapers or look at certain types of news and that some fans saw the damage the interview did.

It hurts even more when some of us who have spent the last year and 4 months defending Michael, responding to many comments on many articles, in many forums and blogs everywhere; working hard to restore Michael's name and when it seemed that the flames of hatred for Michael had finally subsided, with just a few words from that nitwit LMP, it's all over. All the countless hours spent teaching others who Michael Jackson really was has all gone up in smoke and we're back to square one.

Off to bed. I need to go punch my pillow really hard.

Exactly. Some of us have been tireless in Michael's defense, because his children are still HERE, and because Michael deserves our very best. This is incredibly discouraging. . . .

What do you guys think of this?
Oprah is the only one to blame for these bogus headlines! It was her that chose to dwell on the whole drug subject, not Lisa! Lisa only answered what was asked of her, and stupid Oprah couldn't find anything else to ask her about. Like I said before, Lisa was sooooo ready to answer anything she asked, but Oprah just wasted the time on these worthless questions. Lisa isn't the reason for these outrageous headlines, Oprah is. They wouldn't have even existed if Oprah didn't ask her those questions :(. Oh well, at least these smart @ss's are convinced that the marriage was real...that's the only positive thing that came from this video.

... Michael Jackson, were laid to rest with understanding and empathy.
...

Really? I saw a lot of the same reporters sitting in front of Staples Center that used to be the same people who tortured him for years and years, always hoping he'd finally do them the friggin' favor of laying down and dying. Maybe I have a different understanding of the words "understanding and empathy", could be, English is not my first language. ("Facts? Who cares! I'm a journalist! I can offer an opinion!')

...Celebrity was made human today. And Oprah Winfrey, one of the biggest celebrities of our generation, brought it out.
...
As a non-native speaker I understood the meaning of the phrase "dog eat dog", no dictionary is more effective.

On the human level, I understood that divorce and death do interesting things to people, yes. I think only wills and inheritance are more nasty than divorces.

...Perfection does not exist, because people are not perfect. However, sometimes a moment caught on television shows us a humanity that we all share. Michael Jackson was understood more tonight in a human level than in any performance he ever gave us. That is the gift of Oprah.

No, perfection is kinda boring. Decency however isn't. "Are you a virgin?" ('93)
"Was this a consummated marriage?" (2005) and 2010: "so, about those allegations..."
What can I say, yeah, I saw "humanity" allright.

Guess you couldn't see the humanity back then, when orphanages overnight had clean sheets and new toys, hm?
I guess "We Are the World", "Heal The World" and "Earth Song", what humanity, right?

Guess "some fans" (I think that was one of my favorite lines "you weren't excited about being married to Michael Jackson, like some fan" :hysterical: one better be excited about a new husband when freshly married, Joe Bloke or MJ)- listen up Oprah, never consider the populus stupid- there's a few that made that mistake and paid dearly...) could see the humanity in his eyes screamin' at us, which is why we can't freakin' "get over" it.

'Cause his "humanity" and ours resonated, that's why. And we got that way back, that's why we miss him so much.
Because this one who apparently needed to be "made human" in our eyes (few seriously understand on how many levels this is humoring me!!)
REALLY got this planet and it's inhabitants- that's why he's so hellbent on helping us understand and love mankind, 'cause he DOES. He loves mankind so much, that he STILL loves mankind after the sh*t mankind put him through.

Not because we consider him some kind of freak that Oprah finally explained to us. Duuuuh!

Yes, he's a complex dude with some issues and a couple little skeletons in his closet maybe- they simply disintegrate in light of his love, passion, good will (!!!!!!!!) and some plain old compassion, that some people will never find because their self-loathing is standing in the way. Some people can only wish to have access to half as much spark in them to create what he is able to create.

I say we have more MJs on this planets who preach "messianic" messages of unconditional love- and a bigger number of those who want to be communicated just that because they get it- we'd be doing alright.
