point is he'll do whatever the heck he wants and nobody is to tell him what to do
u can have all the opinions u want but u cant express them here if they're negative towards michael. if ur rude to him and criticize him saying "oh it'll be rude of him if he doesn't show up" then expect me to react

haha at what point did i ever say 'HE HAS to attend'? or 'HE MUST do that'

I can have my opinion, and if you dont like it, read on!

EVERYONE has an opinion on what they want michael to do etc

Thats why we are here, to discuss, and if you cant handle that, press LOG OUT

anyway whats the point of this again ????

YES in my OPINION it would seem rude not to attend a show in your own backyard thats honouring one of your greatest achievement

just MY opinion

Re: Grammys: MJ Sending Acceptance Video

EVERYONE!!

Do us all a favor and step away from the keyboard! All the negativity here is just plain ridiculous.

If the man can be arsed to travel all the way to london to accept an award and sing a few lines all in the aid of NOTHING, then i think he could stretch to travelling within the same country to watch a PROPER awards show that has taken the time and effort to put together a celebration of THRILLER, which is also PROMOTION for the album!!!!

Most artists are there when a tribute to them is on stage

AND its not critizism, its called an OPINION, deal with it hun!!

with all that said.. if he goes to the Grammy's.. I have a nice fat crow sandwich for you and few others that posted in this thread....

who gives a flying f*** if he attends who cares.if this is what its come to....

Re: AW: Re: MJ @ Grammys: Will He or Won't He? ~~~All Topics Merged~~

Yeah, but it would be fun seeing a closed men's room door at Taco Bell and only hearing his voice... "Hi, this is Michael Jackson... I'm so sorry, I can't be with you tonight. But I'm busy right now. (Pause)"

Just a new "video message" approach...

I think some people should grow up and stop arguing about what THEY want Michael do to its his life not yours so stop planning about what you want Michael to do he is his own person so he does what he wants to do sure we all want him to perform again and stuff but if he doesn't want to people will just have to accept that and move on

I'm increasingly noticing that the more positive the news becomes, the more negative certain fans become. No matter what Michael does or does not do, some people will never be satisfied. This is true across every major MJ forum, or so it seems. Nothing is more annoying then reading a thread, only to find that pages are consumed with just back-and-forth bickering between fans.

I, for one, am excited that for the first time in years the largest music event in the United States (broadcast live on an over the air channel that EVERYONE gets) has decided to pay tribute to Thriller. The GRAMMYs didn't have to do anything in honor of Thriller, nor did any of the artists that will take part in the tribute. When it was first rumored that Michael would be attending the event, many critical fans said they wished he wouldn't. Now that it's implied he won't be attending, a same number of fans are angry about it. He won't win either way no matter what he does... If he would attend and not perform, we'd be hearing complaints about a missed opportunity. If he would perform, people would find even more to complain about, I'm sure.

Whatever. I'll at least be enjoying the special this Sunday, I can't speak for anyone else.

Dang - I read enough comments and we need to get a hold of ourselves.

I was reading another MJ message board and one fan said his uncle works at the Grammy Association and his uncle confirmed that MJ will not be performing at the Grammys and MJ is not scheduled to attend. He said MJ sent an acceptance video.

It makes sense that he is sending an acceptance video because if MJ wanted his fans to be there he would have let the fans know. MJ would not want to be there without his fans. I think an acceptance video is a great idea.

This is a rumor. Why? Because this information is not confirmed and this is the Internet and you cannot believe anything from the Internet without valid proof. I see so many members here beliving this unproven story without really knowing the truth. Instead of flipping out about this, bashing the Grammys, denying that MJ was indeed snubbed in the 1988, 1993, and 2002 Grammys (he was barely nominated), we need to WAIT until the show actually comes on. AND STOP BASHING THE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOMINATED! Also, stop trashing the T-25 cd. If YOU do not want anything to do with the CD, then let it be. MJ was the one who wanted those artists to do the tribute, not the fans.

Should MJ be at the show, imo? You know it. MJ is being honor for making a great CD. Should MJ perform, imo? No. He wants to save his performances for the new CD. Why should he perform songs that he has been performing since 1983? I mean, does he even remember the dance moves? LOL. Should fans watch the Grammys? If they want to. If you have an artist that you like being nominated and want to see them win, watch the show and root for them. Let's stop this bashing and pure anger towards an award show. Not everything has to do with politics or whatever. Sometimes, it is what it is.

care! And so do a lot of others I'm sure. Whatever he chooses to do, I support 100% however.

yeah well considering the amount of moaning on all the boards lately i wish no one did gvie a FF because the negatvity is getting pathetic

It's really sad, but it's so true...

You're wonderful, TSCM. Thank you for your post. :D

Michael gonna do what he gonna do. It's sad that people can't just let it go like I have. I'm way over it. If Mike thinks this is the way it should go, that's what he wants, hey... I'm cool for it. It's just amusing how everyone is continuing to debate on what Mike gonna do, lol.

And I've said that on every board that I don't think he'll perform songs that are 25 years old unless he wanted to.

Big f***in' whoop.

BRING ON TINA!

Look, people, let's see what happens. Many sites are reporting that MJ will be at the Grammys. Maybe he will be there or maybe he would not be there. That does not mean that some of you guys need to trash his decision. That does not mean that you guys have to believe what some person posted from a message board, and that does not mean that you guys have to trash the Grammys. The Grammys were created for a reason. MJ won his share. Yes, he was snubbed in the show but things happened. MJ does not have to win everything that he was nominated for. Maybe what happened to him in 1988 was more or less than just being snubbed at the show. We cannot be so negative about something that we have no idea what the actual story is. This is a place to discuss this issue and many issues on this great man. After everything that has happened to him, we are suppose to be happy that MJ's name is even being mentioned next to the GRAMMYS! I remember the years of that terrible trial how I wished MJ was on the Grammys and just be there with his "peers" and perform. Now, that time is here where it is finally about the music, some of his fans will never be satisfied. Please, fans, take a breather, calm down and wait on Sunday, four days from now, when we find out for sure what will happened. The commercial for the Grammys was released today and it showed MJ. I was so happy and excited to see him in their commercial. I was happy that finally it is about time to talk about the artist instead of the crap. BTW, MJ does not have to promote a 25 year old CD. SonyBMG are doing that.

http://blog.ruckus.com/2008/02/05/ruckus-top-10-020508/

In honor of the Grammys on Feb. 10, we came up with an unofficial list of our 10 favorite (or at least most interesting) past Grammy performances. Click on the title for the YouTube video, and click on the other links to get the music from RUCKUS.

1. Eminem Feat. Elton John – Stan
Elton John joins Eminem in this amazing performance of Shady’s hit song “Stan.” See? He isn’t as homophobic as everyone thought he was.

2. Chris Brown – Run it
I don’t even necessarily jock Chris Brown’s music that much. Regardless, if I could dance like that, I would have a lot more success with the ladies in the club. Brown is only 18, so he’s got a lot of time to “Run It” in the clubs.

3. The Clash Tribute Performance (2003)
Bruce Springsteen, Dave Grohl, Steve Van Zandt and Elvis Costello come together for this tribute to The Clash.

4. Various Artists (Seriously, there’s so many)
A performance of Across the Universe as a tribute to The Beatles. I don’t even know when this happened? Did this really happen? I don’t even know if I like it, to be honest with you. There’s a good chance John Lennon is turning in his grave. Interesting, nonetheless. What do you think?

5. Michael Jackson – Man in the Mirror (1988)
Black? White? Who cares…This is my **** right here.

6. Madonna – Hung Up (2006)
This begins with help from the Gorillaz and spins into a high-energy performance complete with b-boys and b-girls, strobe lights, and some poles. Definitely proves that Madonna is still hot.

7. Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men – One Sweet Day (1996)
Some of the best ‘90s R&B in a quality live performance. Mariah’s rockin’ the big hair while Boyz II Men rock the matching suits. Classy.

8. Britney Spears – From the Bottom of my Broken Heart/…Baby One More Time (2000)
Ohh Britney… you might’ve hit a few flat notes, but you were normal then… maybe your other hit single “Drive Me Crazy” was an indication of things to come.

9. Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya, Lil Kim – Lady Marmalade (2000)
Even though this song got pretty annoying after a while, it was a hot collaboration for these four hot chicks and a great live performance—Lady Marmalade herself would be proud, whoever the hell that is.

10. Janet Jackson – What Have You Done for Me Lately (1987)
Ok, this video is terrible quality, but you know you loved your VHS player. Despite the cracks in the film, old-school Janet never fails to deliver—watch for the awesome back-flip during the the song change.

sooooo freakin funny (not really) that so many fans are quick to insult MJ when he doesn't do what THEY want them to do.....MJ IS NOT A PUPPET PEOPLE. Dude is 49 years old...he owes us nothing. He's obligated to do nothing.OMG...it's so annoyingg...EVERYTHING that happens, fans complain and throw insults around. Just willy nilly. Not knowing what's going on behind the scenes, not knowing the context of any decisions...not knowing ANYTHING really. It's a big middle finger to MJ...and it's not fair and ya'll don't give MJ any credit. It's ridiculous.

Its part of being a fan

Everyone has HOPES and EXPECTATIONS for Michael

If an award show comes up, of course fans want to see Michael there!! Its natural!!

If you dont like it, or can't hack it, your in the wrong place LOL

Re: MJ @ Grammys: Will He or Won't He? ~~~All Topics Merged~~

and rightly so

In your opinion, i get the sense you enjoy doing provocative posts to incite people to be annoyed with you, I see straight through your efforts. The way i see it, Michael got robbed in the worst way that night, thank God he put on a helluva performance.
