If his own mother could not stop him from getting nose jobs, it speaks volumes to me. I do not believe for one second that Katherine just did not pay attention....
There are plenty of adult children who do not follow their parent's advice or 'orders'. She also stated that she 'only' had grand parents like visits with the kids, but no input- THAT is were I listened up. Also speaks volumes. Meaning that Michael was a grown man who made his own decisions which isn't exactly unheard of.
If I chose to get a tattoo I am certainly not consulting my mother for her permission.
Michael by his own admission considered himself a 'veteran' before he was a teenager, if anyone knew how the 'real world' ticked it was MJ. (despite later claims that money enables you to live in a 'dream world').
Sometimes I feel that Michael is being treated as someone who can't count 'til three.
The fact that he was abused by unscrupulous people does not equate him to be some loveable naiveling.
I'm also not particularly inclined to 'hate' any family per se, even dislike anyone in particular. But to me the media actions of certain folks appear illogical.
If I had a brother whom I believe to have been murdered- and if at the same time I believed law enforcement to be not only incompetent, but also negligent and involved in a cover up- I would apply public pressure on said law enforcement.
The Jackson family is lucky (if you want to consider it that way for a moment) that practically the entire globe is listening- with doors opening left and right for them. Larry King himself would have to carry me out his studio in his arms to get me to leave.
If law enforcement told me that I will not be taking the stand in my brother's trial- and at the same time I believed to have factual knowledge and had information about a cover up within law enforcement- I would be screaming this knowledge from A to Z on every talk show, on every channel, utilizing until I shamed law enforcement to the point of having to do the right thing.
This way (and unfortunately the public can only judge from media observation) it looks as follow:
-family member claims of murder by conspiracy
-claims of knowledge whodunnit
-claims of cover up
-claims of incompetence and negligence within law enforcement.

If I believed that local law enforcement was corrupt, negligent and if I was convinced I had something to contribute- I would shamelessly scream my knowledge from every roof top- if I was convinced that law enforcement was hindering my brother's murder to be solved- and if I was in the public eye- I would use the media.
Government agencies don't like that kind of attention through the media. Bad publicity- there is always a reelection looming SOMEWHERE...
If I had that many siblings and was famous world wide- I would spill the beans from sunrise 'til sunset. Until the supposed corrupt law enforcement had no other choice but to investigate my claims, just to get me of their backs.
Maybe there's some detail the public can't understand- and in that case I apologize. Losing a sibling to that kind of death is horrible and sometimes I feel bad that us fans cannot contribute nicer words- it is just that the media actions seem to appear highly illogical with what is known to us.
To the public however it is looking extremely illogical to be claiming knowledge of murder, corrupt law enforcement- but yet not to say anything. If I had knowledge of someone being innocent of a crime accused- I would also open my mouth. Murray is about to go down for killing the most famous man on earth in the last 1999 years.
If you truly know something, don't just let someone go down.
And if 'they' came after me, well, then I at least said something. If you believe that law enforcement is not doing their job- than public exposure with names and details is the ONLY thing that would work. If you have knowledge of shady stuff- shine a light on it. Otherwise you'll just look like your regular nut who screams conspiracy but can't back it up.
To me as fairly neutral bystander it simply seems extremely illogical and makes just about zero sense.
If I had world wide media attention and if I actually knew something- I would use that fame and the media come hell or high water. MJ fans are more than willing to help apply public pressure to investigate the death of their beloved MJ. But this way they are left to grab their heads and shake them- because it plain doesn't make sense.

And after everything was set and done- you STILL could file a second law suit- and this time it would be promising because the facts were already there, undeniably.
