Tribute 2009 - Jermaine Jackson and World Awards Media [merged]

Has there been any word on how much the tickets are going to cost?
 
No Jermaine wouldnt be shouting it from rooftops until the whole lineup is announced.
 
This sucks.

I mean, Jermaine is clearly trying to get back in the limelight. It even supports HIS charity, not Michael's. The Estate should be approving anything and everything MJ via the executors and there has been no discussion of this...

And as much as I would like to go an honour Michael, we'd need to know who's performing first. Otherwise, a speech from Jermaine and one of Joe's latest protege's isn't quite gonna hit it for me....

Jermaine, sadly, finally has his time in the limelight. He's wanted to stage a comeback for decades, now he's finally found his way of doing it.

I mean, ever pushing for his version of Smile to be released on itunes from the memorial. I, for one, won't be buying it. That's Michael's song, not Jermaine's. Same as the attempt to get Will You Be There re-made. Jermaine, give it up, please, please...

I agree with you, he is raising his own profile off the back of his brother's death = SICK

Why aren't the other Jackson's supporting it...? Good point about the estate not discussing it in court.Its good if any money goes to charity don't get me wrong but by doing that way Jermaine is clever as he knows it looks bad to criticise him that way...

The website is also mainly focussed on the media - it's surely not normal to have a page for the "delegates" or press to sign up for the press conference and tribute show.

Jermaine smacks of his father's opportunism - if anything this should be for the fans and I'm sure if anyone else but Jermaine were to be organising, there would be no end of acts willing to participate and show their love.

I'm sorry, but I find the whole thing distasteful. And let's be honest, any concert, regardless whether it's a tribute or charity event is a rip-off when tickets are likely to go on sale before the performers are announced.

I hope I'm proven wrong, but sadly, this is ill-conceived and unless handled by a big concert promoter or record label, is unlikely to go as planned. Except, of course, another day in front of the cameras for Jermaine.
 
Oh, and it makes me quite sick to see Jermaine's face have more than equal billing next to Michael's, like it's the Jermaine and Michael show.

His face shouldn't even be on it. Like does Michael Jackson NEED any publicity via Jermaine? Even now? Perhaps not organised by AEG, but if there was a MAJOR tribute like the one planned in Vegas announced, don't you think we'd all book anyway?

Jermaine should realise he's a turn-off to most people not a crowd-puller these days... So now he gets his day and once the ticket money rolls in, he can then go in front of cameras again giving out the money raised for his charity. All in Michael's name, apparently...
 
I wish Jermaine just left it for some stars to organize like Will.I.Am or Teddy Reilly. Jermaine promised for years we would see J5 back again on stage and never did. He loves to dream things up, God bless him.
 
ticker are about to be sold in less than 24h and we still don't have any information whatsoever!
 
someone on another board said the lineup wont be announced for another 9 days.

exactly, and I don't know what to do in this situation because I'd really like to go, but if there won't be anything interesing I'd rather to save money for some another thing

I've tried to give Jermaine the benefit of doubt, but I've had enough off him now. The tickets should go on sale in 4 hours, and there's still no information on ticket prices or performers... :doh:

No offence, but Jermaine seems to me a bit delusional with his plans. *sighs*

it's like buying a house online with no picture,lol! you just get there (to the house) excited to see what you bought and then the house may be an old ugly house.
 
Please don't tell people to save their money, it is their decision. If I was able to afford it I would be going no matter who was performing it is about celebrating Michael and giving money to charity
 
They haven't even announced the line up of performers or any major details about television viewing, timing, etc. Therefore why would people pay money for tickets? This is very poorly organized.
 
Well I guess it depends on why you really want to go. To see certain artists or to pay tribute to Michael. I just think it is up to individual people whether they want to go and shouldnt be tld not to get tickets. For me if I was able to afford the trip I would do it so I could pay tribute to Michael. I could care less who is performing because chances are I won't care for the artists anyway. lol

I knew this would be a shambles the moment I heard Jermaine had announced it.
The fact he hasn't involved the estate, decided to hold the event in Vienna (WHY??) and hasn't announced any performers only a few hours before tickets go on sale show this is just going to be an embarassment. What Jermaine has done is dispicable and it's a real shame the family didn't find out about this in advance so they could veto it. I guess that's why he didn't tell them!
