First, I wanna say that this is not a thread to put other artists down, but I saw this video posted at another site and thought it was kind of funny. So many of today's performers have been inspired by Mike though, but who do you think is the biggest wannabe? I vote for Chris Brown, Justin and Ne-Yo :p.

the demi-god peter andre. no question about it.

Chris Brown. I ain't seen anybody copy Michael as much as that kid. After that, definitly Usher. They all wish, lol.

Wait, it's actually hard to choose after watching that video, lol. It's hystarical, by the way. Omarion is pretty bad, actually, lol. I think they're all about on the same level, either way, lol.

that aint even the start of some of the stuff Usher copies..

I mean from the ONE ARMBAND, the shades, poppin' out the ground..

I'd go with usher. He is a cool guy though, humble, and he gives credit to mike often. Timberlake at a close 2nd.

Does Usher do the toaster too?....................

He tried. Like many other artist that have failed. He didn't do the toaster though, didn't jump out. Just rose up from under the stage, in a slow speed.

Usher = humble??

He is ANTi humble.. That is the #1 thing that annoys me about him.. He is SO FULL OF HIMSELF..

USHER...point blank\

OMG Genuine! I didn't even notice the YRMW stuff

Chris Brown more than anyone else. He "borrows" so many ideas from Michael's short films for his own videos it should be criminal.

Justin use to imitate Michael a a lot especially when his first album came out but not so much anymore.

Chris Brown, most definitely. He's gone far beyond what any other artist has tried in copying MJ.

the difference between Chris Brown and Usher..

Brown takes MJ's moves and does them in a way that it comes off as a dedication.. Somewhat the same way Genuwine does for example an MJ leg kick.. (Kinda like an MJ shout out)

When Usher does it, he tries to bring it accross as his own..

I think what makes it this way is that he takes stuff non MJ fans would not really notice of MJ.. the popping out the ground, him standing with his glasses for a minute or so.. The one armband (some people would get).. It's all under the surface in a way that it is more a copy than an inspire or shout out..

that's how I see it anyway

I agree entirely, that's why I don't have a problem with Chris Brown, but with Ushe it's just too obvious that he's not being inspired but he's simply copying.
The same went to JT, not so much anymore but it used to be so ridiculous.

What bothers me now the most about JT is his attitude and the fact that certain people seem to have forgotten that Mike started this whole thing, he's the main source for all of this kids.

aw hizzle ... they all bitin' and i think Mike is flattered.

there are definitely different degrees though.

You're totally right! Never thought of it this way!

Chris Brown, but at least he doesn't shy away from saying so.

Justin Timberlake, on the other hand, seems to have tried very hard in recent years to distance himself from the whole MJ image, and didn't even name Michael as one of his inspirations during the HBO tour. All of this, despite the fact that so many of his current vocals, dance moves, and costumes were lifted from MJ's repertoire. I don't mind when people follow in Michael's footsteps, but I really dislike the ones who don't acknowledge how much they are blatantly copying Michael in all that they do.

I totally agree and that's one of the reasons I don't like Justin. Now people can call Usher cocky all they want but at least he always show's MJ respect and cites him as an influence. Justin never does this, but it's okay because everyone can see that he's been influenced by Michael whether he wants to admit it or not.

okay lets put it this way...I'm irritated by both artists who are unrightfully cocky AND those who copy MJ without giving credit lol

AMEN to THAT!! Couldn't have said it better myself. Justin, GET YOUR OWN THING going. And if you're gonna COPY someone, AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE that you are copying.

lmao that video is hysterical. There's actually a lot more that Usher has ripped off of Michael's concerts like doing a dance behind a big screen where the shadow is cast out, and doing a billie jean type of thing where mike takes out the glove and hat from a briefcase except that Usher does it with his shoes or something like that :-\
then there are the gloves from the Bad era that he would wear, the popping out of the ground thing and slowly taking off his sunglasses.
The thing about Usher is that he tries to pass it off as his own ideas and his crazed fanatics buy it.

Chris Brown is probably first or second along with Usher. He takes concepts from Mike's videos like Thriller and Smooth Criminal and even does remixes of his dances for his videos. He now also brings kids onto the stage to dance with him or in a performance or even when he's accepting awards. he's even taken Mike's love for Chaplin and put it in his performances like at the last VMA awards. Im like damn how much are you gonna take from him? Can't you do anything that's at all your own? At least he acknowledges how much he worships the guy though but still it's waay too much.

David Jordan seems to borrowing HEAVILY from MJ & Prince.

Nothing original

Thats what gets me about him. I watch one of Usher's concerts, and it's like watching the Dangerous Tour. And he does try to pass it off as his....and that irkkkkkkks me. Even if he mentions MJ hear and there, since he's so cocky, the mentions don't really matter lol

so many that if I typed them all out then we might all have to go out and get some snickers bars.

Usher and Timberlake are tied

NeYo,Ginuwine,Chris Brown,Beyonce

and I could add another about 99 more.
