Re: Which ethnicity are you?

how does that make you black?

doesnt that mean u r no more black than u r white.

so why call urself black, and ignore the other parts..

Well my Dad's 50% black, so is my Mom. My Mom's 50% White and my Dad is only 25% white. My Mother is bi-racial and my Father isn't. His mother was half black, half white. His father was half black, part Puerto Rican and part Native American. Well even if I was just as Black as White, wouldn't that be an Obama-esque case of Bi-Racial identity or similar to it (many Bi-Racials within a Black mixture tend to say they are black, while some just say Bi-Racial there is a huge majority that will say Black)?

I technically have more "Black Blood" than "White Blood" so I kind of ran with the majority. My Mother identified as Black and so did my Father, now so do I. However on many occassions I will just say i'm mixed. I'm a mut. lol...

Re: Which ethnicity are you?

I'm white. Half Maltese, quarter Scottish, quarter English.

My dad is 100% Maltese and my mum is 50% English 50% Scottish.

I'm pale as anything, with blue eyes and used to be naturally bonde.. guess I took after my mother more than my dad! Boooo :p

Re: Which ethnicity are you?

I am caucasian.

My Mum is from Australia, my Dad from England. Born in England.. moved to Australia in 1997.

Re: Which ethnicity are you?

I am white.

1. You saw The Dark Knight, good for you.

2. Yes I may have African ancestry way back but I can't trace my roots. I'm fine with that, as far as I'm concerned I'm an American. A black American. I got nothing to do with Africa.

3. I can say what I want too.
I totally agree.

It's a touchy subject because some people always want to defend what they are, even though there's no reason for that... we are all human after all. :)
My husband is white South African with a mixed heritage of English, Norwegian and Dutch. Even though his skin is white, to me he will always be African. He was born and raised there, so I will definitely not call him by any politically correct term (like Caucasian).
That's why someone from the US will always be American in my eyes, regardless of their skin colour.

All my black friends (British and African citizens) want to be called "black". They are not ashamed or offended. Why should they? It's what they are. Nothing wrong with that. :)
