Leona Lewis has admitted that she used to sing Michael Jackson hits in front of the mirror – using a hairbrush as a microphone.

The X Factor winner says she's always admired the star, and would practice for hours in her bedroom.

'I used to sing a lot of Michael Jackson songs into the hairbrush,' she tells Now Online.

'I feel he's still a legend. I think his performances are incredible and his shows are great.'

Leona, 22, also reveals she'd love to work with David Bowie.

'I think he's so innovative,' she says. 'He was so ahead of his time and he still is.'

first i've heard of it, cheers. i hope the duet rumour is true - she's has great vocal talents.
 
Well either way it's still a nice article and basically uses the word 'still' where the press use words like 'once', 'was' etc. basically claiming he's no good anymore. She's really nice and like her soft spoken voice when she talks. :)
 
yep..it's nice to hear the stars say the truth. the media knows he still is, too, but they are in denial. but Leona Lewis and others obviously hear the media and they are responding. and, the media are aware of it, so they say 'she feels he still is.' lol..their envy is increased by her joy and genuine enthusiasm for him. but he's the center of their thoughts too, or they wouldn't highlight her comments on him in their neadline.
 
Michael's the main man, that's why they focus everything around him. They may try to deny it, but he's the biggest star in the world and people will always be interested in him.

Anyway, that was nice of Leona Lewis to say. I hope the duet rumors are true as well. I think she has a good voice.

Yeah that song can be sooooo annoying! IT's only good for the first 10 times, and now I'm sick of it!
But still she's got an amazing voice! It's nice to see she loves Michael :punk:

No, the media is not in denial, they know Michael is the best and that is why they try to ruin him in order to sell papers/get ratings at any cost; and the fact Michael does NOT talk to them makes the media even more crazy to go after him and he brought the beatles catalog nal. That is the motive behind the media.

I love these types of articles. Keep them coming. Leona, like many people, have taste. I do not get the David Bowie part.... ok. Anyway, I WOULD LOVE IT if MJ does a duet with her!! Awesome. :)

I hate to be negative but I just hate how they said she 'admitted' listening to Michaelk, like it's a bad thing :mad:

Anyway, it's great to see all this people from the industry comming forward saying how much the love Mike because now their fans will have an incentive to listen to Michael's stuff.

maybe becuz she is just 22yrs and Michael is almost 50...
 
^ I'm 23 and I don't feel like listening to Mike is something I have to 'ADMIT' I love him dang it and I'll scream it to the world!!!! :lol:

so many people say that..

when positive things are said ppl always feel like they have to say..

"I got to admit Michael........."


That shows what the media did to the culture.. That it makes it hard for people to SHOW they are a fan.. It's rediculous.. Feeling that u should be ashamed for liking someone..

They say things like..

"You can say what you like, but Michael is.............."


Why do ppl feel like they have to say.. "You can say what u like, but.."

It's the taboo of liking Michael and it's not fair.. I know some ppl that are too embarased to listen to MJ with me, but they like it.. So if were in the car the windows are UP so no1 can hear..... if windows are down, music is to low to be heard in the other car...

REDICULOUS...

People are not even given a FAIR CHANCE to give Michael a chance..

It's like ppl don't want to like Michael because they don't want to be looked at as weird...

U know how sick I get of explaining this....

"Think of it this way, what artistic genius was not looked at as wierd when they were alive? artists see the world differently, that's how they're able to create there art.. So if they SEE the world differently, they will INTERACT with it differently."

Yeah KOPV, they say things like "Say what you want" or "I have to admit", or they hesitate because social conditioning has made it taboo to really be in to Michael. I always liken it to a school yard mentality. Michael is the small, odd kid that gets picked on by the bully, in this case society, social standards, rules, laws, perceptions, the powers that run it, and the general population is the rest of the kids who are themselves afraid of becoming targets of that bully. And so, while they don't really want to hurt the kid that doesn't fit in, they would rather join in with the bully to save their own hides from taking a beating then standing up for that kid and taking the beating with him. Sad, but true. Well, at least we're on the right side.
 
shoot, when i am in my vehicle and Mike is on ... which is almost always :lol: people around me dont have to worry about what they are listening to. all the surrounding cars can hear is my ghettofied sound system thumpin and poundin' out the Bass of some beautiful MJ :chichi: if anyone dont like it ... they can roll up they windows or get off the road :chichi: we got our glittery hand on the window that say 'I Love Mike' in thriller type text and as I pull away, it waves back and forth like it is dancin to the music BOOO YAAAA !!

I want one of those window decals like donna has on her MJ mobile :lol: i swear, if I ever see that car on the road without her in it, ima have to at least take it for a spin and maybe return it :giggle:
 
Man Chichi, you KNOW you wouldn't be returning nothin'! You'd be on the other side of the country, cruzin' down Lexington avenue in that car, lol.

I just bought a new car...my baby:wub: it is soo beautiful and I want to pimp it out Mike Jackson style...I wish MTV had Pimp my ride for new cars not just old broke down lemons lol

Oh I've been thinking about getting one of those myself!

I unlike some, WANT people to know I'm listening to MJ on my car...so I hear it loud and I mean LOUD, some people might give me a funny look, some might smile and some might even start singing along!!!!!
I love it.------------------
