Don't worry if you do miss it. It'll be all over YouTube within a couple of hours of it if he does perform. Watch the news that night. It would be headline news if Michael performed. If he does perform, you will definitely get a chance to see it at some point.

Okay I know we banned his articles...but if some fans are interested in some potential new information they might want to check out *You know who's* blog. If what he is saying turns out to be true....that would be amazing!

Is it true? Well, my sources say that Michael Jackson may actually be performing at the Grammy Awards this Sunday.

A lot could change between now and Sunday night, but the scenario that’s been described for me goes something like this: Justin Timberlake starts the show singing along with a tape of Frank Sinatra. The next act up is Jackson, performing one of his hits from "Thriller," possibly even re-creating the dance number for "Billie Jean" he made famous at the Motown 25th anniversary show in 1983.

Will it happen? Who knows. Jackson, my sources insist, has been rehearsing at a Burbank studio and keeping away from the Staples Center, where the Grammy show takes place.

Of course, if it does happen, Jackson would get a huge boost for the special 25th anniversary edition of "Thriller" that Sony releases on Tuesday. And if it doesn’t work out, well, then … as they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Michael, the ball’s in your court. And believe it or not, we’re rooting for you.

Actually.. in all reality, would it be overkill if MJ were to perform, and THEN a tribute by Akon n co. etc were to be done?

I think it would. Not saying I wouldn't want that.. It would be ideal in my books, but I think it would be too much concentration on MJ.

i saw the RF thing hours ago and was sincerely hoping no one would post it here. Why spread his word. IF Mike is planning a surprise then we are potentially about to ruin it. Delete the post i think. If it happens it WILL be a surprise. If it doesnt it doesnt. We do not need to have 3 days of high hopes and media attention on this then it not happen.

I recommend paying NO attention to it and let a surprise be a surprise. And if it turns out false then we didnt miss discussing ANYTHING

well have they officially announced the THRILLER tribute? If not that's probably all it is... I did not see anything surrounding the tribute on there website.. Unless I over looked it..

Actually I agree with Damien. This has happened before with the X Factor appearance.

Press leaked it, and MJ pulled out simply because it wasn't a surprise anymore.

I think it'd be right to delete this 'MJ may actually perform' topic too. The article by Rodjer is bad enough in this sense.

ever thought that maybe the anti-christ of music Simon Cowell was just doing his BS promotional hype as usual before a new season? imo it's an insult to Mike to even suggest he thought about being a part of a lame institution like American Idol and co.

I am voting to delete this thread and reopen the thread AFTER the grammys. I sincerely do not want to ruin anything that may or may not be planned. We will only have ourselves to blame.

It's not an 'idea'.. its a fact.

MJ likes surprising, and this rumour has the potential to spread like wildfire, with the help of us and other media. So in my opinion the thread should be deleted.

Sony confirmed, at a meeting with an MJ forum admin I know (regarding T25 release), that MJ pulled out of the X factor appearance because the media leaked the rumour, and it was hence no longer a surprise.

And yes, a Grammys performance thread should be re-opened in 2 days after the Grammys.

since when did they have a say in his business pre-T25? unless you're talking about the Sony division running X-Factor alongside Cowell. in which case, i wouldn't trust as a confirmation.

IT says suprize performANCE, not performER..

I went to the grammy website, it does not mention ANYTHING (that I see) regarding the Thriller tribute.. The performance is probably the Thriller tribute TO Michael Jackson.. Not MJ himself..

I'm being sensible and realistic here. You watch.. that Rodjer Friedman article will be duplicated beyond belief within the next 48 hours by other journalists online and through other media outlets, and, if the rumour that MJ is planning to perform is infact true, and he pulls out because it's been spread by the media, the fans will not be happy.

Hence why I think this forum should take NO PART in spreading (potentially true) rumours. Just to be safe.

That's my 2 cents worth anyway.

we're getting so many reports and different takes on this and people go with the most unreliable one because it gives hope. and now we're supposed to stop talking about it? lol
