I went to see TII the night it opened at midnight. and the fans there were of course all die hard fans and it was all good. Then i went the second time on a Friday night with some friends. This one girl I know tried to tag along with us but I didnt let her.. i know it sounds mean.. but she's a fake fan and doesnt appreciate MJ. I remember when he passed she actually said that she was glad he died because he was a ped******. And then she started "liking him" all of the sudden. So i told her she couldnt come :p. People like that piss me off. They really juss dont get it. So when I got into the movie the people sitting behind me were juss to disrespectful and laughing all the time even at parts that were really sad. So I had enough of them and actually got up and told them to please respect where they are and let me enjoy the show. and they were quiet after that. But still, if you're not an MJ fan just keep your mouth shut or just stay home! PHEW ok got that off my chest!! :p

I went to see TII on the first day it came out. I was sitting in VIP seats at VUE, and there were a few teenagers sat next to and behind me who didn't stop talking and giggling. Before the film started I got out a packet of tissues (I have a cold anyway) and the girls behind me started laughing and commenting on it! :( I was probably being rather sensitive anyway, but these things really made me wish I'd gone to the MJJC screening, or not bothered going to see it at all!

Fake fans are the worst. There is this girl I kinda know who was cold enough to be making jokes the very day Michael died about his death and now all of a sudden expects people to believe she's a fan of his. There is this other person, a so called friend, so upon finding out he'd passed decided to see if she could cause me further pain by being nasty about him, we had a big falling out and I no longer speak with her as her heart is truly ugly.

Sharing the first screening of TII in my town with other fans in the early hours was truly special, being with people who genuinely love him is what one needs now, the fakes and the disrespectful can go away.

I have no problems with new real fans who care for Michael, but have no respect for people who go see the movie to laugh at him or talk during all the movie.

Got that on 30th oct.. had to sit somewhere else in the theater so I dont kill them...

UR SIGGGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bugeyed :wild: :clapping: :punk: ;D :dancin:  :woohoo: :jump:

 I seriously can't stand some people.
Why do they bother to go to see him in theaters when they are just going to giggle and laugh at him the whole time?
I understand fans laughing at him when he's silly, like when he did that WEEEEEEEEE! :lmao: or when he went to the floor and put his legs up and starting kicking. That was hilarious!
The people though that laugh at those who are crying or are saying rude things, gosh they should just ....

Those are usually the types that I don't like, and I am a ardent defender of the new fans, but only if they have never made a cruel joke and said that they are glad that he died, he was not guilty of that crap.

The test to see if she has really change is that she does not ever make a another joke or complain about him being a pedo again. A week or 2 or maybe even a month, and if she utters a joke or aludes the him being a pedo, which he wasn't she isn't real.

Maybe I should be glad that I'm too sick to go to the theater this time.

I hate the "fake" fans. I'm surrounded by them everyday at school.
I'm going to see the movie tonight with two of my friends who DO appreciate Michael. They're not as big of fans as I am but they don't bash him. They think he has great music but they're not "fans."

I don't understand why people who don't like him would go see the movie though? That doesn't make any sense to me. I was reading on other websites about how some people who don't even like Michael went to see the movie and made fun of him the whole time. What's the point of doing that? It's childish and they're spending money to sit there for 2 hours making fun of somebody they don't like. I really don't get people sometimes.

a "fake" fan actually came along with us. And she was giggling through the film. She was 22 years old. And was dating my younger buddy. I didn't say anything but I remember I was like "what the?" lol...

Like why go and see a film if you know you're not into it?

THANK YOU! Why sit through a film and talk the whole time? Damn, if you wanna hang out and chat: get up and leave & go to Chilli's or someplace!

Aww... I sympathize. I had talkers behind me when I went to see it on Wed night. These kids w/ no manners kept talking in Spanish throughout the film. I was seriously contemplating saying something to them. When I went to see Casino Royale it was the same thing, kids (young teens) talking throughout the film. Whatever happened to those employees who walk around in the theater and keep watch during the film? Nevermind that, whatever happened to manners? I hope I don't have talkers when I go the next time and blue_eyed_belle, you shouldn't let what happened stop you from seeing it again.

One of my best friends who said she laughed when he died and said that he wasn't that great of a mind wants to see This Is It. I hope that can change her mind. I'd LOVE to go with her! (So she can see he DID have a great mind!)

Fake Michael fans and ESPECIALLY fake Beatles fans make me sooo angry! (Well, any fake classic rock fan)

Another reason why I'm uncomfortable with the idea of seeing the film in the theater is exactly what I'm reading about here.

WHY in the world do people pay money (and movies are not that cheap anymore, at least not where I live) to see a film about someone that they make fun of and laugh at the whole time?

It reminds me of YouTube members who leave disgusting and insulting remarks on videos that they obviously went out of their way to search for. That is one thing, because YouTube doesn't cost anything to use.

But the movie itself???

:smilie_despairofhum

Fake fans are a pain in my butt.

I have a recent example.
When the This Is It concert tickets were on sale I was lucky to get a few. My sister told that her colleague at work that I wanted to attend some concerts and she gave him a very disgusting name, similar to "pedo".
Now after it happened she was sad when she listened to his music, she wants to see TII, the musical and says "I grew up with his music"

She is really a pain in the butt and all the fans that claim to be always a fan and never mentioned being a fan before or didn't care about him.

O_O wow at these stories. I'm so sorry some of you guys have had to put up with that kind of crap. The fact someone could say they were glad he was dead makes me feel ill. :puke: When I saw TII opening day, everyone (and there was even of group of people in their 70's in the theatre) was so respectful. They only laughed if Michael said or did something that was cute/humourous. I'm grateful I was with a good audience, and got to see Michael on the big screen in peace. I hope all other MJ fans get that same opportunity. :better:

I don't mind new fans who previously thought bad of him before, AS LONG as they recognize that they were wrong. Some people were young and thought they could trust the media. But if they know better NOW and have acknowledged that, it's all good. The more the merrier. But to people who'd viciously insult him 'till the day he died, and even AFTER he died, and then turn around and act like he meant so much to them... :ranting.

Sorry this post is so long and is with so many smilies (sometimes they illustrate what I'm feeling better than words ever could). But I just wanted to say I see what you mean by fake fans. They suck.

That's true! Totally agree with you.

I have nothing against new fans, not at all. But it's about honesty. If you didn't care about him before then don't act like you are die hard fan now and claim you've always loved him, it's just so ridiculous.
For example for so many years I looked for fans in my city but I only met one about 6 years ago, now I'm in a group (kind of german Fabcebook) with fans that come from my city. Isn't that ironic?! But God thanks I didn't make many expierences like that yet, because to that time I only met fans that were fans "before"... but oh gosh, I remember that one guy you claim to be a BIG fan, but always calls Michael "J*cko" and when we watched TII first screening early in the morning he slept right from "Beat it" to "Man in the mirror". *rolleyes*
But besides that I didn't have any troubles in theatres. Just my last vists was a bit strange. When there's the text in the beginning and it slowly disappears and "This is it" appears the whole cinema was quiet of course but then a bunch of people screamed (?) - I was like "What the hell is going on?" But thats it :)

Hello fellow fans,

I was VERY hesitant to see the movie in the theater because of the reasons listed in this thread, but I ended up seeing it anyway and am glad for it since most people behaved. However, on the upper left side of the theater (I sat far from them in the center), these teenagers talked. So one guy yelled, "WOULD YOU GUYS PLEASE STOP TALKING!" Then other people yelled, "Yeah! Shut up!" Etc. Michael brought out the beast in everyone around those teens, lol!

I find though that's most movies. If it's a comedy or suspense/horror, I'll never see it in the theater unless it's a weeknight and been out for three weeks already. Likewise I'll never see an action, adventure, or thriller during the first two opening weekends. I don't find it humorous when someone screams during a quiet moment in a movie, snickers at something that isn't funny, yells at the screen, etc. I saw TII on its second weekend, and the audience was actually quiet compared to other films I've seen when they're still new.

As for the 'fake fans' mentioned, they sound immature, and if they're that willing to follow trends, I'd re-evaluate my opinion of them. Personally I don't know anyone who falls in that category; I've had a few friends just ask general questions about Michael and his music, which I welcome.

Peace and happiness to all of you.

I had an ok experience watching This Is It, although i had some strange looks as i appeared to be the ONLY one wearing an MJ t-shirt. I also had some looks when i came out of the cinema and had mascara down my face.

However, I havent been a big fan of tattoos in the past, they look nice but I couldnt get one myself. Now Im seriously considering getting MJ on my wrist because it would mean SO much to me, so i told a girl i work with. This is the same girl I overheard laughing and being very rude about me and MJ when i came into work devastated after his death. In response to telling her about my tattoo plans she said she was going to get exactly the same. Now her facebook status' say things like, "saw TII never cried so much in my life"

If she gets this MJ tattoo, it wont mean anything but another to her random collection.

IT ANNOYS ME TO NO END!!!

All for love :) xoxo

Nevermind them. I do that.

If the wanna see TII, let them see. Just ignore them. It's like ateist reading bible. I know there's ateists that have read the bible from beginning to end. And they have right to do that like fake fans have right to watch TII. And there's always chance of becoming a "real" fan.

I saw TII last Saturday. And yeah - I felt that there was fake fans as well. Some guys laughed there but I just ignored them and enjoyed the show. ;)

Fake Fans? Jeeees people what is the fan base coming to now?

Im not a "fan" of many famous people but I still like to watch programmes/movies on them, discover who they are, read about thier lives. Remember....

“The greatest education in the world is watching the masters at work.”

The only reason why I'm am not getting offended about it is because the OP meant people who called MJ a pedo and was cheering when he died are suddenly so sad when they see the movie. And then go back to saying that he was a pedo again. At times I wish that the loving feeling for MJ can stick.

I wouldn't think anyone is actually laughing at him.. isn't it possible they're just having a conversation that's funny? It happens all the time during any movie really.... I don't understand why anyone would waste money on a movie they don't wanna see, or only wanna make fun of.

Unfortunately MANY people will be forgetting about Michael Jackson SOON.

They were interested in Michael only becoz he was "in" after his death.

But that will not last so much and those people will forget about him again...

Unfortunately I am lonely in many places for being a MJ fan yes, even now he is still "in" becoz he died...

That will not last, Twilight thing, such stuff, is now the thing of the moment, teenagers rules the world.

I am old, my things are gone.
Michael Jackson died and so my biggest idol when I was a teen, it finished my youth.

I have no problems with new real fans who care for Michael, but have no respect for people who go see the movie to laugh at him or talk during all the movie.

Got that on 30th oct.. had to sit somewhere else in the theater so I dont kill them...

I agree. I don't have aproblem as long as there is respect.

I went to see This is it with my mum and my sister, some friends wanted to go with me but i just knew i wouldnt enjoy it with them! There fans but they dont love him for him , they just like him for the music! They skit me for calling him Mike like i no him and always say i talk about him to much. I hate people who say they love him but laugh about the evil jokes which just upset me!
Ive lost friends over the things they've called Him!
Im not asking for everyone to love him! I just think everyone should respect everyone!

.

That will be proved when in a year or so this board will be less hectic

the first time i went to see it,i had no problems ,but the second time there was this group of teenagers just talking through the first half, and i wasn,t even sitting next to them and i could hear them,i mean they wern,t even whispering,it really annoyed me,i was contomplainting going over to them, but i would have only got alot of backchat,so in the end i turned round and made a big shhhuush to them with disapproval, they give one back to me out of sarcasm, but they were quiet after that,so it must have worked,if they had carried on i would have got an attendee to come in,
i just can,t understand how people would pay and talk all the way through, not only that it,s so disrespectful of michael i think, considering whats happened.
