The Grammy's haven't done anything for Michael for a long, long time and have basically snubbed him. So he isn't at all obligated, nor should he waste a performance on them. What would be the point of showing up? They're just doing some half-assed tribute, like they always do. He's going to be there for 4 hours for that? I don't think so. Sending a video will get Michael the same amount of exposure and give the same message as him showing up in person. It will get the word out about Thriller 25 and let the public get a look at Michael.
Let the man do what he wants. Who are we to tell him what to do? It's just Thriller 25 not the new album and if he doesn't want to appear just to satisfy our selfishness it's his choice...he is the master of himself and his work!
we still dont know if this person is telling the truth........ we haven't actually got it onfirmed officially......
Didn't the Thrillercast say MJ would be interviewed at the Grammys?
And the Thrillercast is official right? So MJ must be turning up at the Grammys.. Maybe to surprise us! Neyo did say MJ wants to shock the world.. maybe that meant his fans tooyeah it did.

Um, people, who ever called this a "comeback"? It's a feakin' 25 year old album which has been re-issued god knows how many times. He goes to Japan to make some quick and easy money? What do you think this is? lol. This isn't a new album, this isn't a comeback attempt, this isn't anything major other then an anniversary re-issuing of the biggest selling album of all time. Like I said, it's not going to make some massive impact in the already outragous sales figures, whether he "promotes it" or not. Him and Sony are no doubt just trying to make some cash off of it and test the waters to gage the public reaction to Michael at the moment. That's ALL this is, and I don't know where anyone got the inkling that this was somehow Michael's explosion back on to the world stage. Touring, performing, videos, etc... All of that will ONLY come with a new project and new material. I don't understand why anyone would think otherwise.

If this is true I have to say I don't see the point of it. He's in the US, he's not touring or performing elsewhere, so why can't he attend? It makes it seem like he's afraid to or something. I don't understand why he won't promote Thriller 25. I would understand it if he didn't like it, but he was involved in the project so that makes no sense. I'm not saying MJ is obligated to attend the Grammys or do anything, but if makes me wonder about how committed he is to this comeback.
Why did they snub him?the speech (IF THIS RUMOUR IS TRUE) is props hall of fame related. why are people forgetting? heck, he might just go "buy my thriller 25 tomorrow".. who knows.
P.S. he HAS been snubbed. Grammys 88 he had 5 #1 singles and the second biggest album EVER (at the time, second to Thriller) He SHOULD have cleaned up in 88. He even performed for them. And didnt get any recognition. Not a single trophy.
why are ppl presuming this info is true anyway.
Preventing her....................? What is that about?Maybe if he doesn't show up its because of this.............
February 06, 2008. Looks like there will be two less R&B stars at this Sunday's Grammy Awards. MediaTakeOut.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that neither Janet Jackson nor Mary J Blige will attend the awards show. And their boycott has nothing to do with the writer's strike.
A person in Mary J Blige's camp confirmed to MediaTakeOut.com that the R&B queen was NOT invited to perform at the Grammys and will therefore NOT be attending the show.
And Janet's camp had a similar complaint. An insider told MediaTakeOut.com, "[The organizers] are specifically preventing Janet from performing at the event ... That's despite an overwhelming response from music fans worldwide."
