Boy, 13, becomes father

Last night Michaela Aston, of the anti-abortion Christian charity LIFE, said: “We commend these teenagers for their courage in bringing their child into the world.

This makes me sick. It's because of charities like these, and because of religion, and because parents are dumb enough to not teach their child sex education, that children go into orphanages and dont live a great life. Are stuck going to foster home to foster home. Because Abortion is killing a life. Well I believe in these types of situation it's actually saving a life from a life like this. With parents who are not responsible, going to foster home to foster home. It's horrible for the child. This story just angers me.

And your way of thinking just upsets me. A lot of pro-choice thinkers upset me. Have you ever went to an orphanage? How do you know that life just sucks going through orphanages? At least you are given the chance to live. Just because people live hard lives, doesn't mean you can have fun a long the way. And it also doesn't mean you can't succeed along the way. The human mind/brain is fascinating and it's fascinating what we can do with it.

yeah i agree :agree:

theres teens who get pregnant on purpose. i know some teen girls want to have kids early and dont tell the bfs that they want kids.
people always say oh its a mistake when a teen gets pregnant. they dont know sex education. guess what kids know about sex so early now thanks to the internet. some teens are ploting to have kids and keep it to themselfs and tell adults it was a mistake. then the grandparents have to raise them! and this has been happening for a long time now.

and whys ABORTION the only option some are thinking of. ADOPTION is an option too! orphanges? you know how many parents want to adopt? in general its a womans right to choose in my view..but when its a 15 y old girl..how can they make that decision. they arent adults. 15 y old i rethink abortion. i had a friend whos parents made her get an abortion at 15..for obvious reasons...good reasons. but she grew up and landed in her 20s and she looked back and regreted her parents making her do it. when your only 15 you cant make such a tough decision. now she has other kids but looks back on her first. even though she couldnt care for the kid. but thats why parents should all go through the options if something like this happens. but before it happens. when you teach sex ed to your kid..you have to say ''if this happened..'' these are the consquences and options. theres kids out there scared to tell parents they are pregnant and give birth to babies and throw them in dumpsters. or kill them with ther own hands..they seem to be lost on the idea of abortion way early on..adoption..or a safe haven. even in america. if you pick adoption though i think both sides are helping the situation for the teen. the kid will get to live thorugh this careless act and not be raised with teens. and the young girl wont be traumatized by abortion. although if a 8 y old girl got pregnant abortion sounds about right. so little! kids can get pregnant so young! its not only a teen thing. anyway that boy looks 10 not 13..

About the boy looking like he's 10.... When I was 13, everyone thought I was was around 8-9 years old. He could just look young for my age. I turn 27 tomorrow and people STILL think I look 14.

There is no such thing as "safe sex"!

No protection is 100% and there is certainly no protection against a broken heart!

Safe sex is just media garbage.

True, when I said safe sex I meant people need to start using protection. I guess I should have used different words.

It's not 100% but it's better than nothing.

Yeah, you're right about broken hearts....

The safest thing to do would not have sex at all but that isn't very realistic.

Still people need to get educated.

How about no sex - 13 and 15 year olds shouldn't be having it to begin with  That's society and lack of education. Not engaging in sexual behaviour is 100% though may be unrealistic in society.

Kids are in such a hurry to become "all grown up" and "adults" these days. They want to "have fun" and "enjoy life." But why on earth should that refer to one thing and one thing only > sex?
Even at my school, it seems as if vulgar clothing, sexually inclined attitude, and just plain 'dirtiness' has become the highlight of most teenage lives.

It hurts me when I see and hear such things. I'm not judging...but I still feel bad. And especially being a devoted Michael Jackson fan...it's sort of horrifying to see what children are doing and turning into.

darvon try moving to an orphanage and then coming back to tell us how wonderful it was....it's funny that they made this 'choice'at such a young age....newsflash, she hid it from her mother until it was too late. the kid only has a few pounds so i doubt they could've afforded it.

nice to know the christians are b acking them...prey tell, will they be helping to raise those kids financially or now that the baby is out of the womb, they're on to their next cause?

apparently it is being reported that other teenage boys have come forward saying they could be the father, this says it all completely....no education regarding sex at all.

Ok, eww that's really sad. Seriously lack of education and home environment. Poor child looking for love in all the wrong places if that's true.

Exactly. I'm 15 and living in the UK and in my highschool...anyone who does it this young is considered a slut. Although having sex this young is biased on not having a good upbringing.

There's actually a similar story here in Denmark; a 13 year old boy and 13 year old girl are expecting a child in May
and...that is just sad. Children shouldn't even be thinking about having sex. This tendency speaks volumes about the world we live in today, IMO. I mean, when i was 13 i wasnt thinking about sex, that's for sure. I was busy being a child......

I got my first child when i was 23, and i thought that was early.

This whole situation is so sad.
I was discussing this with my daughter, who is 21, and she said at that age she was still playing with her dolls. On reflection I think thats an exaggeration, but you get the drift. She most definitely wasn't thinking of sex.
The parents need to take responsibility for this situation.
Education is the key as well as nurturing self respect.

Shieeet... I see this story everywhere and it's always such a shocker with "boy 13", what about the girl that's 15?

If we're gonna get a little bit shallow for a second, it looks like he's sitting beside his mother, not his uhm... mother of his child.

I know. That boy looks like he's around 8 years old. He looks so young. That girl is much bigger than him . I really think she took advantage of him. All I know is that if this were the other way around and this story was about a 13 year old girl who looked like eight and got impregnated by a 15 year old boy who looked his age, i'm sure there would be even more outrage or he'd probably be charged with something. I'm sorry, but that is sick.

Where were these kids parents anyway? I can't believe they let those two have sleep overs together. At least that's what I read in the papers. That's unbelievable to me. Their parents are to blame here as well.

Bravo:) Finally someone who thinks like me! I agree that sometimes abortion is a good solution. These 'parents' are uncapable of parenting a child, for God's sake!
I disagree and find it Strange that neither of you mentioned the option of adoption ?? rather then just getting rid of the baby ? We cant judge what the baby's future
will be just becuase it has young parents _ Abortion seems extreme for
this situation and adoption to me would be the best alternative if they
wanted an alternative _ Let the baby live - There may be a greater purpose for its life :)

i love those who suggest someone should carry a child full term, see the child, then give it up....hard to do imo and under those circumstances, most decide to keep the baby....

im not rooting for abortion, im rooting for common sense.

here's the link to teh story about two other dudes coming forwards

Adoption is a long process and I would love for that child to be adopted, sadly not many get adopted. A girl who is as young as 15 will get attached to the child very quickly. A girl who is 15 and has sex at that age obviously feels she is not loved very much or is not getting enough attention from her own family. So she resorts to find it in someone else through relationships, sex, or from having a child.

If the mother had chosen adoption as her choice then when the time comes and the child is born, the mother would have a very hard time giving up her child. Due to the mothers young age, and hormones all over the place she would not be in the right state of mind to think what is right for the child, and would most likely keep the child.

Financially the child would be going through hard times. Especially when the mothers family is having financial problems themselves.

This is why I believe it is not fair for the child to be put in such situations. I may sound cold and not caring. But I am none of those things. I just like to see many sides of the spectrum. The mothers life, the baby's life, the grandparents life. The financial situation. The parents probably expecting for their parents to take care of the child while still attending school.

It is just a depressing situation to be in. Not that a new life is horrible, because it's beautiful, just this type of situation makes it difficult to handle.

This is so disgustingly wrong. I can't believe it. I can't believe that the parents would basically help nurture the situation and then exploit it by selling the story to the highest bidder. Shameful.

isn't it illegal in the UK to have sex before 16, shouldn't their parents have been fined or something? I didn't read anything about a punishment for them having sexual contact in the first place

i remember being 16 and finding out about having a son...but 13 omg..hell 16 is too young and still not an excuse but 33..omg my parents wudda had my head....he looks 6 and shelooks 30. i thought he was sitting next 2 his mom @ 1st lol and hes a trooper cuz shes way muc bigger than him (ok im sorry no time jokes lol).

Here's the next twist in the story....

the new mum apparently was told to keep quiet about her affairs so they could say Alfie is the dad for $$$$$$ from the press!

'I'm the daddy': Defiant Alfie makes foul-mouthed statement on hooded top as doubt grows over baby story

Underage father Alfie Patten defiantly declared his paternity yesterday in the face of increasing speculation he is the victim of a scam to make as much money as possible out of media deals.
The baby-faced 13-year-old angrily wore a hooded top emblazoned with the words: 'Alfie Patten, I'm the daddy, if not **** you all I'll still be there'.

His insistent message came as a close friend of the parents of the baby's mother Chantelle Stedman spoke out.

The 13-year-old's personalised hooded top reads: 'Alfie Patten, I'm the daddy, if not **** you all I'll still be there'.

Clive Sim, 39, said Chantelle was told by her mother to say that Alfie was the baby's father so they could cash in on their incredible story.

Mr Sim claims that the schoolgirl was ordered to keep quiet about sleeping with other boys so that the 'teenage dad' story could be sold to newspapers for thousands of pounds.
Mr Sim, who has known Chantelle's parents for years, said: 'Penny told Chantelle to keep quiet about other boys because they wouldn't get any money.

'They know that Alfie being the dad makes a better story. I think there's a big scam going on here.'
The sensational claims come as bookmakers Paddy Power have been taking bets on who is the father of week-old baby Maisie Roxanne with Alfie still favourite.

the boy is way younger his age... he looks like his a 7 or 8 year old boy!!

i cant imagine him and his girlfriend as parents.. i wonder how will they teach their child about life when they themselves dont now a lot about it yet..

This just gets worse. :bugeyed It's sickening, that poor child. When she grows up and finds out about all this. I really feel for her.

I cant belive it...how can parents go so low

how ironic. there are father age guys who don't wanna claim they are the fathers of their babies..this dude is a defiant opposite...

sure got creative with his wardrobe defiance..

and he looks eerily happy, holding that baby.

but i'm gunna step in the mud and say...i feel better that the smile on that boy's face says he loves that child. at this point..it is forward...not backward. hopefully, never to repeat so early again...but.it's forward...i hope that child grows to be as loved as the smile on Alfie's face seems to convince me.. no more time for condemnation...it's done...now it's time for determination..and making the impossible into the possible, as far as providing for that baby is concerned.
