I don't get it? What are they saying, what's the purpose of this video?
Sorry everyone, I just got off work. Fill me in....-_-
It's video of Chris Brown rehearsing dance moves for an upcoming project. The choreographer is James Moody. The guys with the camera are clowning the work because they recognize it at Michael's and they're saying James didn't change one step from Michael's original routine.
I actually heard one of my students say that Michael Dances like chris brown
i cant see any of mikes choreography.. i must be blind?
stop ugh. This is going too far. I actually heard one of my students say that Michael Dances like chris brown....i was shocked. And I taught her the Real ABC's of music. Dang, I don't mind paying homage...he best be wearing a daggon MJ tshirt in the vid...or sportin' some signature MJ style to make it obvi that he's just payin' homage. We'll see.
That's what I don't like about this crap.
Nobody's original. Everybody has copied something from someone else. It's just like music, there's only 7 notes. Does this look familiar?

The beggining of the choreography is from Michael's live performance of "Jam". Look closer.
Anyway, it's one thing to do a step which has already been done before, almost EVERY step you see has been done before in some manner, it's another thing to actually take a choreographed routine, that's how you put the steps together, and pretend its your own when its not. That's really the choreographers fault, not Chris'.
Michael was able to take steps which obviously have been done before, as the human body can only go in so many directions, but it's the way he combines those steps that creates a unique style. Chris Brown looks like a typical street dancer, he's got no defining look to the way he moves which you could associate with him.
And yes, Chris Brown's dancing is much more street then Michael's. Michael isn't a street dancer, he's just a pure dancer who does some of every form, but is mainly influenced by jazz dancing. He moves more similarly to Fred Astaire and Bob Fosse then he does James Brown, for example, or any of the street dancers he's picked up steps from.
The main difference between Michael and all these cats isn't the steps they do, it's how well they move. Michael just moves better then Chris Brown or any other dancer out there. More fluid, quicker, more accurate.

That's absolutely true! His moves really flow...they have "life" in them and it doesn't look like he is "dancing" (if you know what I mean....sort of like MJ said...the "five six seven eight" thing)...It's eally hard to explain what I mean, but some dancers "finish every move"...not that Michael doesn't do it too, but when some dancers do it it looks just like that....that they are "dancing". like "pull your hand here, five....twist it like THIS...SIX....throw it out like that...seven..." where as MJ's moves are more like his feelings...you know "Pull the hand...whooosh.....twist it......wheeeee...throw it out....POW"....Anyone know what I mean??!! :lmao: His dancing looks more "smooth"...like he's "living the song".
I think I mean sort of like this....Check out the dancing from 5:06 on. Look at the other dancers...especially the blonde guy on the right....and then look at MJ and how he does the moves. The other dancer's moves are more like *Chop chop chop chop*...really, what's the word, "choppy"? Where as MJ's moves are more smooth and flowing and they don't "end" like to a wall but they flow. Am I making any sense?

(And I still really can't see where the MJ choreograohy is in that video posted in the beginning... )
