I never liked his voice....
I prefer the vocals from Dangerous on.![]()
Well screamy ...and "manic screaming" is no where a description for ANY of MJ's songs  but I see what ur saying and "TOO" is an opinion that a lot don't agree with. It's a style that Mj's adapted to since BAD actually. And it gives his vocals and an edge and emotional style. MJ doesn't ALWAYS sing in that style though, he ALWAYS mixes up the songs styles...and some songs have it and some songs don't...but MJ seems to LIKE it so he's been doing it a lot....and people who like Dangerous on like it too.The thing about that, it's that from Dangerous and on he became a little too screamy.
his new voice mmmmmmmm so dark and sexy
did Michael do a NEW recording with Akon for the wanna be starting something or is it the old singing voice but lowered down to fit the music??? I can't tell
Plus Michael is known to purposfully not sing as well as he is capable of doing. No one know's why, he just holds back. He does the same thing with his dancing.
I didnt know he re-recorded the voice!
The whole song is brand new as far as I can tell with new vocals.
I've always felt that way, and if that is true, then why? I mean isn't giving it your all part of perfection...and his a prefectionist, right?! Sometimes it's hard to understand him.
I would love to see a video of Michael exercising his voice with a vocal coach, that would be really interesting to see.He is, lol. His vocie coach Seth has even said that Michael sings every song under consideration for an album with him before actually doing the final vocals to make sure his voice is in top form, and he sings it amazingly, but when he actually lays down the vocals in the studio, he says he doesn't do it nearly as well as he does in private with him. He said he's asked Michael why and Michael just shrugs his shoulders and doesn't give an answer.
Yo, your siggy with Michael from the making of "Ghost's" is like the coolist ever, lol. I swear nobody moves like Michael. Look at how intricat and precise he is. Dayum.
Alright, back on topic.
its the same voice lol i know u mean that back then his voice was more high pitched and now more deep but it all depends on the song. he recorded songs back then with a pretty deep voice eg. shes out of my life, i cant help it, man in the mirror etc and hes recorded songs recently with a very high pitched voice eg. butterflies, unbreakable etc
so it all comes down to the song and how michaels feeling it ...
But he did some of that in Thriller though. Lady In My Life adlibs is similar to Whatever Happens. "Let me TOUCH YOU BABY! I luv er! I luv er! I luv er baby!" is 'screaming' (if thats what u wanna call it lol). And i guess i u wanna consider MJ having a gritty voice "struggling" then...he was doing so then as well lol.
Or Show You The Way To Go, "Lemme show ya! Lemme show ya! We can do it! We can do it! We can work it out!" Kinda like the "You REALLLY cant make him hate her!" in WBSS2008.
Back then he did smoother, more soulful R&B thats why you didn't hear much 'screaming'....later on he experimented with different styles like ROCK and Hip Hop and more edgy/angry/in-yo-face material. And MJ put a LOT more emotion (IMO), and had more ROOM to show that emotion in his later works...so the songs don't sound as smooth, to the book singing...but more free, more emotion filled, more spontaneous. It's all about style. Same effort, just different way of showing it.
I'm just trying to understand why u think he's struggling now. When clearly most of the grit and 'screaming' in his voice is stylized.
Even though Whatever Happens is my favorite song, can you imagine how much better or I should say different (just In case) it would have sounded. The part were he goes "don't you let go baby"....etc that's a little to much screaming. lol
No it would've give the song a less intense effect, and I like the intensity of emotion towards the end. It's the 'preachy' song. Like The Earth song. MJ's acting like he's PREACHING while he singing. It's a great effect...and I love it when he's does it.
And like i said, you hear it more in Dangerous onwards because he MADE more angrier and edgy songs which require an angrier and edgier voice.
And breathing, running out of breath...i guess i'll have to hear what you're talking about, but sometimes when u hear him breathing like that it's for the benefit of the emotion in his voice.
